Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Florida State redshirt senior DT DeMarcus Christmas a third-round grade coming into 2018.
Christmas (6'4/308) considered leaving for the NFL after his redshirt junior year, but ultimately decided to return to the Seminoles for a final go-round. Pauline notes that he was "impressed" by Christmas's tape from the 2017 season. "he’s a powerful, slug it out defensive tackle who easily holds the point or drives blockers off the line to make plays in the backfield," he writes. He does offer a caveat, however, that Christmas can lose pad-level, and he'll have to create more leverage or he'll be "eaten up" at the next level. Jul 30 - 1:14 PM

Florida State redshirt junior DL DeMarcus Christmas announced he will return to school for the 2018 season.

"I made a promise to my mother that I would go to college and get my degree, that’s the most important thing to her," Christmas posted. The defensive lineman earns plenty of starts and is an important piece of the Noles' rotation, playing 54 percent of defensive snaps this year. He will play under a new head coach in Willie Taggart.
