Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline ranks redshirt senior T Derwin Gray as the top draft prospect to watch on the Maryland roster this year.
Gray toyed with entering the draft this spring, but ultimately decided to return to school. Pauline notes that he's received high grades from scouts he's spoken with, but he appears to have some concerns about Gray's NFL prospectus. "He’s a big bodied mauler and easily controls opponents at the point," he writes. "I’m concerned Gray may be a little too large and feel his size coupled with the lack of natural footwork dictate a move to the right side." Pauline gives Gray a fifth-round grade, so if he shows more mobility, it sounds like he could work his way into Day 2. Mon, Jul 16, 2018 12:53:00 PM

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline passes along that Maryland redshirt junior OL Derwin Gray is considering declaring for the NFL Draft.

Gray (6'5/330) was a 12-game starter at left tackle for the Terrapins this season and earned All-Big Ten honorable mention from the coaches for his work during the campaign. While all of this is shiny enough, should he declare, it might be an uphill climb to land on an NFL team. Draft Analyst currently stamps Gray with a UDFA grade.
