Texas senior DE Charles Omenihu accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Omenihu (6'6/254) is in the midst of a career-best campaign, having recorded 34 tackles (12.0 for loss), 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble across 10 games played. He's a lengthy, flexible prospect who also offers a plus strength element. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline wrote at the beginning of November that the Longhorns standout has risen in the estimation of the scouting community over the first two months of the season. He opened the year as a likely Day 3 selection, but Day 2 may well be in range before all is said and done. The Senior Bowl will serve as his springboard into the predraft evaluation process.

NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang lists Texas senior DE Charles Omenihu as one of the players who saw his stock rise after a strong Week 5 performance.

Omenihu was excellent against Kansas State; picking up five tackles, with two of those sacks in the victory over the Wildcats. The senior defensive end considered entering the draft, but decided to return to school, and it appears that was a wise decision. The 6-foot-6, 254-pound defensive end needs to show greater consistency as Rang notes, but he also notes his "long arms, flexibility and strength." More efforts like this will see Omenihu's stock explode.

Texas junior DE Charles Omenihu will return to school for the 2018 season.

Omenihu (6'6/254) likely would have been in the Day 2 conversation had he declared. He was a 12-game starter for the Longhorns during the 2017 season. For the campaign, the junior defensive end finished up having logged 28 tackles (7.0 for loss), four sacks and a pair of forced fumbles for the campaign.
