Penn State redshirt senior CB Amani Oruwariye accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Oruwariye has been one of the top defensive backs in the country this year, and has received some first-round talk. At 6-foot-1, 205-pounds, his size will obviously be something teams covet, and analysts have noted his ability to make plays on the ball as well. He'll be one of the most talked about corners -- and defensive players, period -- in Mobile this January. Nov 14 - 7:30 PM

The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard says "it’s impossible to deny" Penn State redshirt senior CB Amani Oruwariye has shown "ball skills, size and improvements as a mental processor."

He recorded an interception against Pitt and now has two on the season. Ledyard believes that Oruwariye "has proven to clearly possess two traits the NFL covets: size and ball production." This is great for his draft stock and "In a weak cornerback class, that could go a long way," according to Ledyard. The Penn State DB has been mocked as high as No. 19 earlier this offseason and could warrant a middle of the first round selection by the time the 2019 draft rolls around.

The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs projects Penn State redshirt senior CB Amani Oruwariye to be selected at pick No. 19 in his latest mock draft.

Crabbs believes Oruwariye (6'1/205) is a high-upside option with "explosive click and close ability, great length and splendid body control at the catch point." Oruwariye is coming off his best season in 2017 when he recorded four interceptions and seven passes defensed. He will likely take on a bigger role this season as one of the leaders of the defense and look to bolster his draft heading into the upcoming draft cycle.

Penn State redshirt senior CB Amani Oruwariye said that he is "embracing" his role as a team leader.

Oruwariye (6'1/205) admitted that being a vocal leader has never been a responsibility in which he's been heavily relied upon, but noted that "the ball is kind of in my park now to do that." He and fellow CB John Reid -- on the comeback trail from a torn ACL sustained last year -- are expected to serve as starters for a Nittany Lions team which is largely being forced to reassemble its secondary following several losses to the NFL. In 2017, Oruwariye logged 28 tackles while picking off four passes, with seven passes defensed to boot.
