Troy senior CB Blace Brown accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.
Brown (6'1/184) is an absurdly active cornerback, having picked off 12 career passes (11 of those coming across the 2016 and 2017 season) with 16 passes defensed. The former walk-on had a chance to strut his stuff in a notable spot this winter, when the Trojans took on Buffalo's big-time receiving corp in the Dollar General Bowl. He acquitted himself adequately against Anthony Johnson and friends, there, at least outside of a holding call which went against him. A Day 3 selection could be in the cards come the spring. NFL Media's Lance Zierlein lists Troy senior CB Blace Brown among the 10 best defensive backs to watch in 2018.

Brown has been a ball-hawk over the last two years -- as Zierlein notes -- picking off 11 passes over the last two years. He also notes that Brown is a good size/speed prospect, as a 6-foot-1, 184-pound corner who can run with the best of them. "Brown plays with a fluid backpedal and doesn't have much of a hitch at the top when it's time to stop and break forward on a throw," he writes. "He plays with above-average instincts and balances his attention between the route and the quarterback." The Sun Belt conference doesn't produce a ton of NFL talent, but it sounds like Brown is a name to monitor for 2018.
