The Draft Network's Benjamin Solak believes Maryland junior S Antoine Brooks Jr's best fit is in the "Jabrill Peppers role."
After a great season opener against the Longhorns including a game-sealing interception, Solak believes he could be an intriguing prospect is he is able to continue to excel in this role. He describes it as "the modern, do-it-all college safety is illustrated in how these defenses move their best playmakers — physical and willing against the run; quick and sticky in coverage — around the field." Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline originally graded him as a sixth-round prospect, but an impressive year in this role could see his draft stock on the rise. Sep 2 - 10:53 AM

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes that Maryland junior S Antoine Brooks Jr. offers the size and physicality to play in the NFL.

He grades Brooks Jr. as a sixth-round prospect, and it sounds like that grade could go up as this season -- and potentially the next one -- progresses. "He’s a terrific run defender who is also effective on the blitz," writes Pauline. "Brooks needs to improve his ball skills but would be effective as a traditional strong safety and could also line up in a zone system." Maryland is probably going to have a rough year in the Big Ten, but there's NFL-caliber players here, including Brooks Jr.
