Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven left with an undisclosed injury concern in the fourth quarter of Friday's loss to Washington State.
While there has been no immediate word on the exact nature of the injury, speculation on social media from those at the game have it as a possible concussion or head injury. The senior sat out just one play before returning, something which HC Chris Petersen will no doubt have to answer questions about after the game. Nov 23 - 11:35 PM

Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven is one of the 20 semifinalists listed for the Bednarik Award.

Burr-Kirven is one of two Huskies on the list, as he's joined by defensive back Byron Murphy. Alabama (Quinnen Williams, Deionte Thompson) and Mississippi State (Montez Sweat, Jeffery Simmons) are the other schools that have multiple players on the list. Burr-Kirven should be considered among the favorites, as he's been one of the most productive defensive players in college football. The full list of nominees can be found in the link below.

CBS Sports draft writer Chris Trapasso lists Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven 18th on his latest draft board.

What a jump Burr-Kirven has made in 2018. The production has been sensational, with 108 tackles already; 15 of those picked up last Saturday in the 27-13 victory over Colorado. He also has recorded a 29 percent run-stop rate, and an impressive 41.7 rating in coverage. "Burr-Kirven has emerged as the premier "big nickel" prospect in the country," writes Trapasso. "Listed at 6-0 and 222 pounds, the Washington linebacker has safety size, safety coverage skills and is seemingly always around the football."

Per Pro Football Focus, Washington senior LB Ben-Burr Kirven recorded 10 total stops in Saturday's game against Colorado.

Burr-Kirven (6'0/221) has been the Huskies best player on defense and leads the county in tackles. He recorded a 29 percent run-stop rate and 41.7 passer rating allowed in coverage. His small stature is sure to hurt his NFL draft stock, but he will certainly be taken in the middle rounds by a team that focuses more on speed than raw size.
Oct 21 - 10:51 AM

Washington senior Ben-Burr Kirven picked up 15 tackles and a sack in a 27-13 victory over Colorado on Saturday.

What a star Burr-Kirven (6'0/221) has been for the Huskies. He's leading the country in tackles, and he also had a huge interception of Steven Montez that set up a field goal near the end of the game. Burr-Kirven's size -- or lack thereof -- is going to hurt his NFL stock, but there is no linebacker playing better right now in college football.
Oct 20 - 6:50 PM

Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven was named the Pac-12 defensive player of the week for the second week in a row for his performance against Arizona State.

Burr-Kirven (6'0/221) has been a machine over the past two weeks, and he had a monster game against the Sun Devils with 20 tackles and two forced fumbles in the 27-20 victory. The senior linebacker has some deficiencies -- particularly in coverage -- but his nose for the football makes him one of the better inside linebackers in the country.
Sep 24 - 2:39 PM

Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven (undisclosed) returned to Saturday's game against Utah.

Move along, nothing to see here. Burr-Kirven was shaken up on a hard block, but managed to return to the game after sitting out just one play.
Sep 15 - 11:09 PM

Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven left Saturday's game against Utah late in the first quarter due to an unspecified injury.

Burr-Kirven was on the receiving end of a hard block that he did not see coming, and he remained down on the field for a couple minutes before walking off under his own power. With Washington already without the injured D.J. Beavers, the team is not in a position where it can afford another serious injury at the linebacker position.
