Texas State redshirt senior TE Keenen Brown accepted an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
Brown (6'3/250) could have played a sixth year at Texas State -- or another school if he transferred -- but he declared for the draft, and he'll now be one of the more intriguing players playing in the NFLPA Bowl. He caught 51 passes for 577 yards and scored five touchdowns, and he is viewed as a potential Day 3 selection right now. The chance to move into that Day 2 range exists -- especially if he performs well in events like this. Jan 4 - 4:26 PM

Texas State redshirt senior TE Kennen Brown declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Brown (6'3/250) actually had the option for a sixth year of collegiate ball, but will opt in for the pros instead. He is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he registered a 51-577-5 receiving line. The Athletic's Dane Brugler tabs the former Oklahoma State tight end as a potential Day 3 selection for April's draft. He offers plus-quickness, as well as a nice big body for red zone work.

Texas State redshirt senior TE Keenan Brown logged two rushes for 64 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 24 yards in Thursday's 15-13 loss to Georgia Southern.

Brown (6'3/250) had not registered a rushing attempt in a game prior to Thursday, when he managed a three-yard touchdown run in the closing seconds of the third quarter. Oh, and he also had a 61-yard run in the contest. Pretty slick. On the receiving end of things, Brown had posted 90-plus yards in three of his first five games coming into Thursday's game, but was unable to add much to his season-long tally versus the Eagles. He'll try to put up numbers against UL-Monroe a week from Saturday.

Texas State redshirt senior TE Keenen Brown caught four passes for 90 yards with two touchdowns in a 42-27 loss to Louisiana on Saturday.

Brown (6'3/250) has been one of the top tight ends in the country, and that strong play continued on Saturday. He found the end zone twice even without Willie Jones behind center, as freshman Tyler Vitt looked his way and found him for his third and fourth touchdown of the year, respectively. Look for Brown to have another strong game on Thursday against Georgia Southern, regardless of who the quarterback is.

Pro Football Focus notes that Texas State redshirt senior TE Keenen Brown has the highest grade of any tight end through Week 5.

Brown has been outstanding, and has a grade of 90.1. The former Oklahoma State player ranks third in catches at the position, and he's made an impressive 176 yards after the catch so far for the Bobcats. At 6-foot-3, 250-pounds, Brown is a tough tackle, and he's athletic enough to run by linebackers. It'll be interesting to see if this improves his draft stock in a weak tight end year, and if he can keep up this kind of usage throughout 2018.

Texas State redshirt senior TE Keenen Brown caught nine passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 25-21 loss to UTSA.

Brown (6'3/250) has now turned in 100-yard receiving efforts in two of four games this season. His third-quarter touchdown on Saturday drew North Texas to within 17-14 on the scoreboard, but alas for the Bobcats, the team would be unable to quite get over the hump for the win before contest's end. In four games this season, Brown owns a 19-256-2 receiving line.
