Washburn senior CB Corey Ballentine was selected the Cliff Harris Award.
This award goes to the best small-school defender. Ballentine has made waves this year with his strong play, and we're going to see him featured in the Reese's Senior Bowl in January. The 6-foot, 204-pound senior currently projects as a mid-round pick, and he could become a Day 2 player if he tests as well as analysts believe he will this winter. Mon, Dec 24, 2018 01:07:00 PM

Washburn senior CB Corey Ballentine accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Ballentine (6'0/204) has quickly developed into one of the more intriguing corners in the class -- small school or not. He's also a track star, and he'll get a chance to put that speed on display in Mobile in January. He's also known for his physical play, and scouts will also be intrigued by the fact he's relatively knew to corner. We certainly will be curious to see how he performs in the event.

NFL Draft Scout's Rick Serritella lists Washburn senior CB Corey Ballentine as a player to watch for in the 2019 class.

As Serritella notes, Ballentine (6'0/204) is a dual-threat star at Washburn, also excelling at track. That speed is also on display on the football field, and at 6-foot, 204-pounds, he has the size to potentially be an outside corner as well. "A solid tackler, Ballentine plays physically and persevered through difficult times as a freshman, when he contemplated quitting football," writes Serritella. "Praised by his coaches for being smart and humble, the NFL will be happy that he decided to stick it through and now he's in line to be rewarded for all of his hard work over the past four years."
