Oft-injured senior quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies, Stephen McGee, got back under center this afternoon against the Oklahoma Sooners, this after replacing starter Jerrod Johnson with a little more than six minutes remaining in the third quarter of today's game.
McGee's first "real" action (one pass prior to this point) in the Aggies' last five games saw him go 10-of-19 for 82 yards in a 66-28 loss to the Sooners at Kyle Field. Sat, Nov 8, 2008 09:30:00 PM

Quarterback Stephen McGee (shoulder) is improving and head coach Mike Sherman will be available Saturday against Colorado.

By available, we assume that means as a backup to Jerrod Johnson, who has performed very well with McGee out. A quarterback switch now would be foolish, but you never know.

Texas A&M will know the status of quarterback Stephen McGee in the next day or so.

McGee has yet to practice this week, so we'd be leaning towards a sit with the Aggies' quarterback. Texas A&M welcomes Kansas State to College Station this Saturday.

Stephen McGee, starting quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies, reinjured his shoulder today during a game with the Army Black Knights; prior to leaving the contest, the senior had completed 7-of-9 for 104 yards and one touchdown.

Sophomore Jerrod Johnson stepped in and ultimately did enough to give the Aggies a 21-17 win; yet, Johnson was playing with an injured shoulder as well, leaving serious questions about whether or not he'll be available for the opening matchup of conference play next week versus Oklahoma State. On the day, Johnson completed 6-of-10 passing for 53 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, while also running with the ball twice for 12 yards.
