Kent State tailback Eugene Jarvis made an appearance against Army as the super senior had 71 yards rushing and a touchdown against a stout rush defense.

Jarvis is not worth picking up but it is good to see the senior get some work.

With tailback Eugene Jarvis missing his fifth full week of practice, the Kent State Golden Flashes are preparing to move on without him.  Head coach Doug Martin says "Really, you are going on five weeks he has been out now. I’m hoping he can get back. I love him to death, but we can’t sacrifice the whole team for one guy."

The Kent State backfield is loaded with Jacquise Terry and Dri Archer so the team shouldn't suffer, but it is a shame to see such a talent on the sidelines.

As the Golden Flashes faced off against Miami, there was no sign of Eugene Jarvis.  In his absence, Jacquise Terry more than picked up the slack with 23 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

As long as Jarvis is being held out, Terry becomes a decent option in MAC leagues.

It seems that Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis is considered probable against Miami this weekend despite some conflicting statements from head coach Doug Martin.  Martin said "He did practice some (on Sunday), although he wasn’t live" but then went on to say at another press conference "He hasn’t practiced, I would doubt Eugene will play."

Kent State has some talented backs behind Jarvis in Dri Archer and Jacquise Terry so I wouldn't expect Jarvis to get much work if he does play.

Kent State tailback Eugene Jarvis is expected back for when the Golden Flashes take on Miami (OH) on October 2nd.  Coach Doug Martin says "He did quite a bit of running (on Sunday), he is going to do even more today."

Miami of Ohio should be a nice matchup for Jarvis but be sure to see how many carries he loses to backfield mates Jacquise Terry and Dri Archer.

Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis will miss the game against Penn State this weekend as he dealing with a groin injury.

With Jarvis out, Dri Archer and Jacquise Terry will get the work.  Rregardless of who plays, there will be little running room against the Nittany Lions.

Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis missed Saturday's game against Boston College due to a groin injury.

Jarvis' status against Penn State is unknown.  Even if he is cleared to play, he's not a good start this week.  Keep him on the shelf until after the bye week.

Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis gained 45 yards and a score on 11 carries, the same number of carries provided to Jacquise Terry, who posted 30 yards but scored twice through the air.

At this point this is a running back situation to avoid, however we envision Terry eventually emerging as the feature back.

Although Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis only played in the first series, he ran the ball six times and caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Spencer Keith.

It is good to see Jarvis back from a lacerated kidney in 2009.  If Jarvis can come close to his 2008 form when he ran for 1,669 yards, he should be considered a RB2 option.

With Eugene Jarvis, Dri Archer, and Jacquise Terry performing well this spring, the Golden Flashes of Kent State have one of the deepest backfields in the MAC. In the last scrimmage, Dri Archer was the star as he had a 65-yard touchdown run, finishing with 86 yards on 11 carries.

Jarvis is still the expected starter out of the Kent State backfield, but he will be pushed until their first game by Archer and Terry.  On draft day, Jarvis is not a stretch at RB2, and if you are in a MAC-only league, feel free to pick up Archer and/or Terry.

Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis will sit out spring practice as he continues to heal from a lacerated kidney.

ESPN's Graham Watson has a nice piece on her blog detailing the injury and showing just how tough the vertically challenged Jarvis is. All signs point to him being ready come this fall and worth a shot as a sleeper pick in 2010.

Jarvis will apply for a medical redshirt which would grant him a sixth year of eligibility.

Kent State running back Eugene Jarvis was up to his old tricks Thursday night rushing for 27 times for 141 yards and a score in the win over Coastal Carolina.  Jarvis also snared 3 passes for 30 yards.

Jarvis had an injury plagued 2008, turning many fantasy owners off.  But playing in the MAC, Jarvis can still put up big numbers.
