Stanford will name former Cardinal quarterback Tavita Pritchard their new offensive coordinator.
The 30-year-old Pritchard takes over for Mike Bloomgren, who left to take the head coaching job at Rice. Pritchard has been with Stanford coaching staff since 2010, and played for the Cardinal from 2005-2009. He previously was the wide receiver and quarterback coach. Mon, Dec 11, 2017 06:01:00 PM

Starting for the injured Andrew Luck, Stanford quarterback Tavita Pritchard completed just 8 of 19 passes for 117 yards and was intercepted twice.

A tough way to wrap up a career and the Cardinal will welcome back a healthy Luck with open arms next season.

Tavita Pritchard will start at quarterback for Stanford when they take on Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31.

There was an outside chance Andrew Luck (finger surgery) could return, but that won't happen. Pritchard is no stranger to the starting role, having started 19 games for the Cardinal before giving way to Luck this season.

Stanford veteran quarterback Tavita Pritchard, who has seen redshirt freshman Andrew Luck emerge as the 2009 starter, is taking a team-first attitude, and he'll help the youngster acclimate to the starting job.

Pritchard, who led the Cardinal to their stunning 2007 upset at USC, provides Jim Harbaugh with a welcome veteran presence.  And while he presents no fantasy value at this point, strange things happen during the course of a college football season.

Stanford quarterback Tavita Prichard enters spring ball as #1 on the depth chart, though based on coach Jim Harbaugh's comments this spot is very much up in the air.

Pritchard will have to fend off Andrew Luck and Alex Loukas this spring, and then freshman Josh Nunes will join the fray.

Miami redshirt freshman Robert Marve will transfer to another school.

There have been rumors for a while that the talented signal caller would move on. Marve has struggled off the field, and clearly he and coach Randy Shannon never saw eye to eye.

Coming off a concussion suffered last week against Arizona, starting quarterback for the Stanford Cardinal, Tavita Pritchard, threw only 12 times for 51 yards and an interception today versus UCLA.

It continues to be a rough go of it for the Cardinal passing game; fortunately, given the success of Stanford's ground attack, that isn't nearly as much of a worry as normally it might be. Yet, against the #1 defense in the country in USC, don't expect Jim Harbaugh's squad to get away with relying on the rush to overcome the Trojans for a second consecutive year.

Stanford Coach Jim Harbaugh said that quarterback Tavita Pritchard (concussion) is likely to play against UCLA.

We don't recommend starting Pritchard as we're expecting the Stanford offense to be the Toby Gerhart Show.

Starting quarterback Tavita Pritchard suffered a concussion in last Saturday's win over Oregon. If Pritchard can't return to practice by Wednesday, he likely won't play.

With Pritchard ailing and UCLA giving up 323 yards on the ground to Oregon, Stanford running back Toby Gerhart should see plenty of work this Saturday.
