The lone bright spot for the UTEP Miners against Arkansas was playmaking wide receiver Kris Adams who reeled in five passes for 148 yards and a touchdown.

Adams had been pretty cold lately but appears to have considerably warmed up.

As Trevor Vittatoe goes, so goes Kris Adams.  Adams is the favored wide receiver for the Miners and against Rice he caught five passes for 134 yards and all three passing touchdowns.

Adams is developing into a solid option, especially with Donald Buckram sidelined and the Miners taking to the air.

Although the ground game suffered for the Miners, the aerial attack was still potent with Kris Adams reeling in seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.

As long as Donald is out, Adams is the top playmaker for Trevor Vittatoe to give the ball.

"Even on a team centered around tailback Donald Buckram, this is at heart a passing, receiver-oriented offense and UTEP will play a bunch of players at the wideout position," Brett Bloomquist of the El Paso Times writes.

It's easy to overlook quarterback Trevor Vittatoe and receiver Kris Adams, but don't be surprised if the pair steal some touchdowns away from the stud fantasy back this season.

UTEP wide receiver Kris Adams kept up his torrid pace with nine catches for 116 yards and a score against East Carolina.

Adams has scored at least once in his last six games and finishes the year with 50 catches for 958 yards and 14 scores. The 6'3" sophomore became quarterback Trevor Vittatoe's favorite target down the stretch and should be a major fantasy player in 2009.

Kris Adams only caught six passes from UTEP quarterback Trevor Vittatoe, but three of those six catches went for touchdowns as Adams racked up 111 yards. This is Adams second straight 100 yard receiving game, and more importantly his second straight game with three touchdowns.

It's becoming pretty clear that the 6'3" Adams is the favorite target of Trevor Vittatoe especially in the red zone.

UTEP WR Kris Adams caught a 74 yard touchdown pass that accounted for a large portion of his 128 yard day against UCF.

Vittatoe seems to be finding his stride after a few subpar/average performances. If defenses are locking in on Jeff Moturi then it appears Kris Adams could become the one Vittatoe is looking for downfield.
