East Carolina receiver Dwayne Harris had a big day for the Pirates as he caught literally half of the team's completions, finishing with nine catches for 99 yards and a touchdown.  Another notable performance was that of Lance Lewis who hauled in just two catches but they were for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

East Carolina wide receiver Dwayne Harris is excited about the new pass-friendly offense that head coach Ruffin McNeill has brought from his days at Texas Tech. The coaching staff is excited too.  Receivers coach Lincoln Riley has said "He's going to be a special one.  I'm excited about Dwayne."

Harris caught 83 passes last year for nearly 1,000 yards and had a total of 12 touchdowns.  Consider Harris on the verge of a breakout season in this new offense and a WR2 in any league.

When asked if the 71 passes thrown during the East Carolina spring game was an anomaly, head coach Ruffin McNeill said, "Some people throw it for a hobby. We throw it for a living."

This is good news for fantasy owners as this new offense makes the starting quarterback (Brad Wornick or Dominique Davis) a draft-worthy player as well as Darryl Freeney and Dwayne Harris at wide receiver.

East Carolina offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley believes he has a real playmaker in wide receiver Dwayne Harris and said that "He's a special talent and we've got to find innovative ways to get the football in his hands".

Harris has over 900 yards receiving and scored 12 total touchdowns last year.  Look for Harris to see a considerable bump in production under the new, pass-heavy regime.

East Carolina completed their second spring scrimmage and it is looking like the new offense is clicking.  Quarterbacks Brad Wornick, Rio Johnson and Josh Jordan combined to throw 41 of 70 passes for 445 yards and 4 touchdowns while tight end Justin Jones had 5 for 86 yards and receiver Dwayne Harris had 5 for 56 yards and a touchdown.

This could be a pleasant sign of things to come at East Carolina.  If the Pirates can settle on a quarterback, this may be an offense to raid on waivers early in the season.
