Andrew Svoboda turns his attention to TPC Boston for his debut at this week's Deutsche Bank Championship.
Svoboda has flashed some late-season form, with top 25s in three of his last nine. The upside potential has been shown on numerous occasions, but he remains inconsistent on a weekly basis. Entering the week at 94th in the FedExCup standings, he will need a top-heavy finish to advance to the BMW Championship at Cherry Hills. Aug 28 - 8:27 AM

Andrew Svoboda ripped off a 6-under-par 33-31=64 in his second round of the Wyndham Championship to post 9-under 131, one stroke back of the overnight co-leaders.

He had a par attempt from just inside seven feet at the par-4 18th, but two-putted for bogey. However, it was his only gaffe of the round during which he split 13 (of 14) fairways and hit 13 greens in regulation. Svoboda rattled in seven birdies, including rolls from 26 feet, 22'5" and 15'9" at the third, 11th and 13th holes, respectively. In addition to his position at the midpoint, a consolation for today's effort is that he matched his career low on the PGA TOUR first achieved in the opening round of the Zurich Classic in late April.

Andrew Svoboda has been removed from the published field of this week's Barracuda Championship.

He sat just three strokes off the 36-hole lead at the RBC Canadian Open, but turned in a pair of 2-over-par 72s on the weekend to finish T43. However, the 34-year-old is poised for his first appearance in the FedExCup Playoffs. He's currently 79th in points on the strength of a T2 in New Orleans and T6 in Memphis.

Andrew Svoboda arrived at the midpoint of the RBC Canadian Open in 7-under-par 67-66=133, three shots off the 36-hole clubhouse lead.

He's proven to be a nice fantasy find this season. Svoboda wrapped up a berth in the FedExCup Playoffs and his 2014-15 card weeks ago, but he hasn't relented since a T2 in New Orleans. He's added a pair of top 20s and stands to pad that record in Montreal. Thus far, he's converted 11 birdies, four of which from outside 13 feet, the longest from 28 feet at the par-3 fifth hole on Thursday. Today's set featured a 22-footer at 14. But perhaps more valuable are the par saves that maintain momentum in the second round. After attempting to make a mess of the par-4 18th, he holed out from the rough 11 yards away for the 4. Later, after finding trouble off the tee at the par-5 sixth, he'd eventual pour in his par from 13'8".

Andrew Svoboda will compete in his second RBC Canadian Open later this week.

He tied for 49th in this event last season at Glen Abbey GC, but will face Royal Montreal GC this time around. Svoboda was hot earlier in the season, sharing second at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tying for sixth at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. His recent form has been a bit chilly, finally missing a cut at the John Deere Classic in his last start after cashing in his previous five.

Jul 23 - 12:41 PM

Andrew Svoboda went out early in the final round of the Travelers Championship and fired a 4-under 36-30=66 to finish the week at 1-over 281.

Playing in a solo tee time, the two-time Web.com Tour winner had a ho-hum round going through 12 holes. From here, he fired up the birdie train that lasted for five holes. He gave away too many strokes on Friday and Saturday to be in contention, but this was his seventh cut made over his last nine tournaments. With 39 PGA TOUR starts now under his belt, Svoboda is getting the hang of things, and is someone for gamers to watch closely moving forward.
Jun 22 - 10:44 AM

Andrew Svoboda signed for an even-par 33-37=70 in the third round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic to end his week one off the clubhouse lead at 7-under 273.

Svoboda had his round to 9-under at the turn and was right in the thick of contention until a double-bogey six at the 12th hole that included an approach in the water and a missed bogey putt from 4'5". All told, he circled four birdies to go with two bogeys and the aforementioned double. His 18'3" birdie from the fringe on the par-4 sixth was the highlight. While this won't be the day he hoists his first trophy, it's the second time this season that he's put himself in a position to close the deal. Add him to the list of players zeroing in on their first PGA TOUR win.
Jun 8 - 3:15 PM

Andrew Svoboda crafted a 2-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic to reach the 54-hole mark at 6-under 204.

Svoboda rattled home four birdies, all inside 10 feet, to just two bogeys. His ball-striking was adequate, splitting 10 of 14 fairways and landing 12 GIR. He tied for second at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans back in April on the heels of back-to-back top-30 finishes. He's trying to channel something similar this week, having tied for 19th at last week's Memorial Tournament. He won't have time to see where the current leader, Ben Crane, finishes his third round, as Svoboda will be back on the course in a matter of minutes to begin his final lap around TPC Southwind.
Jun 8 - 10:09 AM

Andrew Svoboda submitted a 4-under-par 34-32=66 for his second round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic, reaching the midpoint in 5-under 135, seven strokes back of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.

He arrived in Memphis ranked an impressive 79th in FedExCup points, so he's all but assured of reaching the Playoffs as long as he plays out the schedule. Today's round featured a number of notable conversions, including birdies from 20'4", 17'8" and 25'4" at the 12th, 15th and eighth holes, respectively. However, Svoboda authored one of the shots of the year when he jarred his approach for eagle from the fairway 216 yards out at the par-4 fifth. It's the second-longest hole-out on the PGA TOUR this season behind Scottie Scheffler's 218-yard ace at Las Colinas. And it's the second consecutive week that Svoboda has found the cup from afar. He holed out from 124 yards at No. 14 at Muirfield Village in the second round of last week's Memorial, also for eagle.
Jun 7 - 3:12 PM

Andrew Svoboda turned in a 4-under-par 33-35=68 in the third round of the Memorial Tournament to reach the 54-hole mark at 7-under 209.

Svoboda grabbed three birdies without a blemish on Muirfield Village's outward nine, highlighted by a 21'4" birdie at the par-3 fourth. Making the turn, he added a 13'6" birdie at the par-4 10th, then found a fifth birdie at the par-5 15th. He followed that with bogeys at 16 and 17 before holing out from 39 feet from a greenside bunker for birdie at the 18th. He will try and chase down his first PGA TOUR win in Sunday's finale. Svoboda sits one off the clubhouse lead, but trails Bubba Watson by six in real time.
May 31 - 3:51 PM

Andrew Svoboda has made four of his last five cuts ahead of this weeks Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

This is well above the brief career arc Svoboda has shown in his year-and-a-half on the PGA TOUR, and his stats demonstrate that it isn't a fluke. He ranks seventh in GIR, 15th in ball-striking and 48th in driving accuracy ahead of his first trip to Colonial Country Club. His recent trend on TOUR and those statistical highlights could bode well for his chances at a nice paycheck this week.

May 20 - 9:41 PM

Andrew Svoboda polished off an excellent week at TPC Louisiana with a 3-under-par 35-34=69 in the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

This marks the first time in his career that he finished a PGA TOUR tournament inside the top 10, and his 17-under 271 is good for the clubhouse lead with only four players remaining on the course. His round featured four birdies to just one bogey, highlighted by a 52'3" birdie from off the green on the par-4 12th. He began the week 148th in the FedExCup standings, but now finds himself projected to finish inside the top 80. Should he end the season inside the top 125 he would maintain his PGA TOUR card for 2014-15.
Apr 27 - 5:57 PM

Andrew Svoboda turned in a 2-under-par 36-34=70 in the third round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and enters the finale tied for fourth at 14-under 202.

The pressure of playing in the final threesome seemed to play a factor in Svoboda's round, as he erased both of his birdies on the front nine at TPC Louisiana with a pair of bogeys. He calmed down with a blemish-free back nine, circling two birdies on the way to the clubhouse. His notable birdies fell from 12'8" on the par-4 first and 27'5" on the par-5 seventh. He will try and at least claim the first top 10 of his PGA TOUR career on Sunday.
Apr 26 - 6:01 PM

Andrew Svoboda chased his opening 64 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with a 4-under-par 34-34=68 to post 12-under 132 at the midpoint, just three strokes off the 36-hole lead.

He finished the day where he started, in second place on the leaderboard. Unlike Thursday's magnificent performance, Svoboda wasn't bogey-free today despite going 3-for-3 in scrambling. That's because he three-putted the par-3 ninth from just inside 50 feet for his only bogey of the round. Prior to it, he sunk five birdies, three of which from outside 12 feet. The highlight measured 34'11" at the par-3 14th. Like leader Ben Martin, Svoboda is also in pursuit of his first PGA TOUR title.
Apr 25 - 7:45 PM

Andrew Svoboda torched TPC Louisiana for a bogey-free, 8-under-par 34-30=64 in his opening round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, good for outright possession of the clubhouse lead.

This was an incredible round of golf. Svoboda hit 15 greens in regulation and poured in eight birdies, six of which on his inward nine. The set featured conversions from 19'8", 24'6" and 12'7" at 1, 17 and 18, respectively. He didn't miss inside 20 feet! At last check, his strokes gained-putting clip sat at 3.157. Today's score goes in the books as his career low in his 33rd PGA TOUR start, and he's the eighth to match the course record.
