Stankowski was the eighth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He snuck in following a wave of withdrawals that included two alternates sitting higher in the pecking order. The two-time PGA TOUR winner has transitioned into a very part-time touring professional. This will be just his second start of the season and third of the last two. Paul Stankowski has been added to the published field of this week's Puerto Rico Open.

We'll see about this. He started the week as the 14th alternate, but gained entry when Ben Crane withdrew. Stankowski has Past Champion status on the PGA TOUR, but hasn't held a TOUR card since 2011. He also labels himself as a "former PGA TOUR player" in the bio on his Twitter page while now peddling "belts and accessories."

Paul Stankowski added a 4-under-par 32-36=68 in the second round of the Sanderson Farms Championship to reach the halfway point in 10-under 134, good for a share of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.

Stankowski was the third to hit 10-under and earn the co-lead. In his second round, he landed 15 greens in regulation and wiped off one bogey with five birdies. Anything goes for the two-time PGA TOUR winner this weekend, but expect hole locations to be more challenging.

Paul Stankowski carded a 6-under-par 35-31=66 in his opening round of the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Stanko hasn't played the PGA TOUR since the Fall Series last year, so he's immediately capitalized on a rare opportunity this week. He hit only 11 greens in regulation but limited the damage to one bogey. After returning to Annandale this morning to complete his round, he closed with three birdies, a par and an eagle to finish three strokes off the clubhouse lead. No doubt yesterday's rain helped soften the turf and improve scoring.

Paul Stankowski turned in a 3-under-par 35-34=69 at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Tex., in today's open qualifier for the HP Byron Nelson Championship, two strokes too high to force a playoff for a berth into the tournament proper.

Since losing his PGA TOUR status at the conclusion of 2012, the two-time winner has been relegated to the Web.com Tour where he's cashed in just one of four starts this season. The HPBNC is a hometown event for the Dallas-area resident. He squared just one bogey today but mustered just four birdies. Other notables that failed to qualify include: 68--Bubba Dickerson ... 69--Chris Smith ... 71--Todd Fischer; Clark Dennis ... 72--Steve Allan ... 73--Will Strickler ... 75--Frank Lickliter II ... 76--Glen Day; Marc Turnesa ... 77--Robert Gamez.

Paul Stankowski signed for a 2-under-par 35-35=70 following his round in today's open qualifier for the HP Byron Nelson Championship at Lantana (Tex.) Golf Club, but it was two strokes too high to join the playoff for the final exemption into the tournament proper.

Other notables that failed to qualify include: 69--Todd Fischer ... 70--David Branshaw; David Morland IV ... 71--Ted Purdy; Will Strickler ... 72--Frank Lickliter II; Chris Smith; Tom Byrum; Joel Edwards ... 73--Glen Day ... 75--Leif Olson.

Paul Stankowski posted a 4-under-par 32-34=66 in his opening round of The McGladrey Classic, finishing one stroke back of the very early clubhouse lead.

Stanko enters ranked 178th on the money list. He's coming off a T21 at the Frys.com Open, just his second top 25 of the year. This included conversions of 23'2", 23'8", 26'3" and 15'9" at the first, second, fifth and eighth holes, respectively.

The second round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open was suspended due to lightning from 5:11-5:45 p.m. local time.

The threat of inclement weather was in the forecast early this week but wasn't expected to hit the area until later tonight or tomorrow morning. Paul Stankowski was one of 27 stranded on the course at the time of the delay. He returned and parred the par-4 18th to finish at 4-under 138.

The second round of the Viking Classic has been scheduled to resume at 5:15 a.m. CT.

Heavy rain pounded Annandale during today's delay. If the restart time holds, then it will have lasted three hours and 27 minutes. Paul Stankowski will return to the par-4 ninth hole where he will give a birdie attempt of 13'8" a go. He's 6-under on his round with an eagle and five birdies. Stanko is an aggregate 4-under, which just might be the cut line by the time the tournament gets around to it. The field has enjoyed ball-in-hand in the fairways and extremely receptive greens due to all of the rain.
