Kyle Reifers concocted a 2-under-par 33-35=68 during round two of the Quicken Loans National, climbing inside the top 10 on the leaderboard with a two-day total of 2-under 138.
Reifers wasn't attracting any attention with his tee-to-green game today, but his short game was stellar. He drained three putts from outside 15 feet while also gaining 1.669 strokes around-the-green. The Wake Forest alum hasn't been inside the top 10 at the midpoint since the 2016 Barbasol Championship where he posted up at T4 before fading to T35. The Ohio native currently ranks just 145th in the FedExCup race so a big finish would go a long way toward locking up his TOUR status for the 2017-18 season. Jun 30 - 7:51 PM

Wake Forest alum Kyle Reifers makes his way back to his home state for an appearance at this week's Wells Fargo Championship.

The Charlotte, North Carolina, resident won't be playing in his backyard, but he's just a hop, skip, and a jump across the state. His track record at Quail Hollow Golf Club was nothing to write home about, a 2-for-5 record with T41 being the best. Reifers may enjoy the change of venues this week as Eagle Point Golf Club takes over the host role for one year. His biggest asset recently has been scrambling, gaining 8 strokes around-the-green over his last three starts. If the greens prove to be tough to hit this week, Reifers could see his name rise to the top of the leaderboard.

Kyle Reifers will honor the King this week at Bay Hill Club and Lodge as he preps for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The Wake Forest product is slow out of the gates this season, finding just five paychecks in 12 starts. None of those finishes have landed inside the top 30. On the bright side, Reifers does have a T12 to his name at this week's venue, coming way back in his 2007 debut. Since then, he's returned to miss two cuts before finishing T43 last year. With his current form the way it is, gamers can leave Reifers on the shelf this week.

Kyle Reifers has pulled his name from the field at this week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, being replaced by Nicholas Thompson.

Reifers arrived with a disappointing five missed cuts over his last six starts. This week looked like a decent spot to bounce back, as he finished T21 here last year, but he has different plans. Reifers did not cite any injury, but that cannot be ruled out given the mid-week change of heart. In his place, Nicholas Thompson gets a chance to take on the three-course rota this week. He is 1-for-7 in this event, with a T7 in 2008 being the clear highlight. Thompson is playing on a Non-Exempt Major Medical with eight starts to earn 454 FEC points or $717,890.

Kyle Reifers orchestrated a 5-under-par 32-34=66 during round one of the Quicken Loans National to throw his name right in the mix following a 135-minute weather delay in the morning.

Reifers took full advantage of preferred lies by splitting 11 (of 14) fairways. From there he gained 2.82 strokes over the field in his approach game, landing 13 greens in regulation. It wasn't a perfect round, though, as he squared back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 13 and 14 early on in the round. Both bogeys came via missed GIRs and missed par-saving attempts from inside seven feet. Reifers offset the bogeys with seven birdies. His first visit to Congressional Country Club led to rounds of 75-77 (MC, 2012), but he's off to a much better start this time around.

Kyle Reifers returns to his old stomping grounds as he preps for this week's Memorial in Dublin, Ohio.

Reifers arrives in great form, posting a fifth-place finish at last week's DEAN & DELUCA and a T10 the week prior (AT&T Byron Nelson). He's playing well, and now he gets to play at a venue he knows like the back of his hand. Reifers grew up caddying at Muirfield Village Golf Club. As a pro, he's appeared here three times, posting a T25 in 2012 but missing the cut in 2007 and 2015. Given his current form and knowledge of the course, Reifers makes for a very interesting sleeper this week.

Kyle Reifers finished off his fifth DEAN & DELUCA Invitational with a 2-under-par 33-35=68 and a 72-hole aggregate of 12-under 268, down one place to solo fifth, a personal best at Colonial CC, supplanting T13 in 2012.

The 32-year-old began the final round in a three-way T4 on 10-under, two back of 54-hole leader and eventual champ Jordan Spieth. He circled four, including three straight on the Horrible Horseshoe (holes 3-5), to outpace bogeys on two and 18. The lost shot at the last dropped him out of a would-be three-way T3. For the week, Reifers circled 19 birdies against seven bogeys and was No. 1 in greens in regulation at 81.94 percent (59/72), 15 in the finale. This was his fourth top 10 of the season (22 starts) and second straight, as well as a season best.

Kyle Reifers reaped the rewards of steady ball-striking, signing for a 4-under-par 34-32=66 during the opening round of the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational.

Reifers striped 11 (of 14) fairways and landed 14 greens in regulation. His lone blemish of the round came at the par-4 ninth hole when he found bunker trouble off the tee and left himself with 83 yards after two shots. It wasn't all ball-striking for the Wake Forest product, as he dialed in his putter from long distance coming into the clubhouse. First, it was a 53'10" birdie bomb at the par-4 14th hole and then closed out his round with a 36'1" birdie at the par-4 18th hole. This goes in the books as his lowest round at Colonial Country Club since an opening round 65 in 2012. He went on to finish T13 that week.
