Olin Browne will compete in this week's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial as a result of his 1999 victory.
There is a clause that affords all winners of this event prior to 2000 a spot in the field. This will be Browne's second appearance since 2008, as he missed the cut in 2011. Less of his time is spent playing golf competitively, now focusing more energy on a career in television. May 21 - 2:32 PM

A few hours after Olin Browne was added to the published field of this week's Sanderson Farms Championship, he was removed.

The 54-year-old was the eighth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry thanks to 11 withdrawals today. He hasn't competed on the PGA TOUR since missing the cut at last year's U.S. Open, and he hasn't cashed since the 2009 Travelers. He tied for eighth at Annandale when he was 47 years of age in 2006.

Olin Browne was added on Monday to the field of the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.

Browne has been splitting time this season between the PGA and Champions Tours. He has played in eight PGA Tour events this season and has made the cut in only two of those starts

Olin Browne withdrew on Monday from the Valero Texas Open.

Browne has only made one cut in six starts on this year's Tour. He turns 50-years-old on May 22nd and most likely be spending his time this season on the Champions Tour.

Olin Browne finished T-7 at the second stage of Q School at Callaway Gardens GC (Mountain View) in Pine Mountain, Georgia, and is one of 20 to advance to the final stage in December.

Not bad considering the veteran turns 50 in about six months (May 22). Among the notables with whom Browne will grind it out in the final stage are co-medalists Chris Riley and Robert Damron, Carlos Franco, Chris Smith, Jay Delsing, John Riegger, Bob Heintz, Chip Sullivan, Webb Simpson and Derek Fathauer, who turned pro in September. Notables failing to advance include Len Mattiace, Billy Andrade, Jim Gallagher, Jr., Jim McGovern, Ian Leggatt, Tom Scherrer, David Peoples, Trevor Dodds, Michael Clark II, Justin Bolli, Kyle Thompson, Michael H. Thompson, Chris Kirk, Mike Heinen (WD) and Tripp Isenhour (DQ). Two more second stage sectionals will be held November 19-22.

It's been a rough year for Browne, with 10 made cuts in 26 starts on the Tour. He currently s 206th on the Tour's Money List, with $157,553 in earnings.

Olin Browne has been added to the field of this week's Wyndham Championship.

Browne has been in a slump for most of the season and he has made only one of his last six cuts on the Tour. He has had some success at the Wyndham, with a T-9 in 2001 being his best finish.

Olin Browne has been added to the field of this year's RBC Canadian Open.

Browne was added to the field after the withdrawal of Steve Lowery. He was playing on a Major Medical extension earlier in the year, but Browne failed to make the required earnings and is now playing out of the Past Champion status. His best finish on the Glen Abbey in the Canadian Open is a T-20 in 2000.

Browne was playing on a Major Medical extension earlier in the year, but he failed to make the required earnings and is now playing out of the Past Champion status. He has a solid record at the John Deere, with a T-15 in 2001 being his best finish at the TPC at Deere Run course.

Olin Browne has been added to the field at this week's Buick Open.

Browne was given the final sponsor's exemption for the event. He's played in the last seven Buick Opens (12 lifetime) and missed the cut last year. He's missed 10 of 16 cuts in 2008 and has failed to post a Top 25 in 11 months.

Olin Browne shot a 12-over 75-77=152 and will miss the cut at the St. Jude.

As usual, Browne found fairways (21 of 28) but took 61 putts and couldn't avoid the big numbers, with nine bogeys, two doubles and a triple in his two loops of TPC Southwind. This was Browne's final event on his medical extension, which leaves him allowed to accept unlimited sponsor's exemptions or rely on his Past Champion status to gain entry into events for the remainder of 2008.

Olin Browne post a final round of 1-over-par 71 to finish in 69th place at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Browne has been playing on a limited Major Medical Extension this season and today's check for $12,322.00 now leaves him with one event to earn $391,766 to retain his Major Medical status for the rest of the 2008 season. If he earns at least $105,783 in his next start, then he'll have conditional status for the rest of the season. Should Browne fall short of conditional status, then he would have to play out of the past champion category and he would be able to accept unlimited sponsor's exemptions.

Olin Browne shot 73-74=147 at the AT&T Classic and missed the cut by three strokes.

Browne was accurate as usual off the tee, missing just two (of 28) fairways but his short game produced a mere four birdies, falling short of the cut line for the ninth time in 13 events this year. He's down to two starts on his medical extension to earn $404,088. Browne will try again at next week's Colonial, where he's listed in the published field.

Olin Browne played his two rounds of the Wachovia Championship in an aggregate 6-over par and will miss the cut.

Despite hitting 24 (of 28) fairways, Browne couldn't maintain the good play all the way to the cup, needing 61 putts and penciling in 13 holes over par. The MC leaves him with three events to earn $404,088 on his medical extension. Don't count the veteran out just yet but he'll need a couple of Top 10s to make a run at it. It's hard to believe that he'll turn 49 on May 22.

Olin Browne posted a final round of 8-over-par 78 to finish in a tie for 78th place at the EDS Byron Nelson.

Browne was 4-over-par going into the final round, but his total score ballooned up with the heavy cold North winds. He is currently playing on a Major Medical Extension and after his $12,864.00 check for the Nelson, Browne now has 4 events to earn $404,088 to earn his Major Medical status for the rest of the season.
