Chris DiMarco has been added to the published field of this week's Valero Texas Open.

DiMarco was the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry due to the bevy of withdrawals today. In his only start this year, he missed the cut at Pebble Beach. Even though his status in the Past Champions category earned him a tee time in Puerto Rico, he turned it down. The 44-year-old is 0-for-3 at TPC San Antonio.

Chris DiMarco hasn't cashed a check since July, and looks to remedy that at the Frys.com Open.

DiMarco's last payday was a T8 at the John Deere Classic, but he has since missed his last four cuts. He played CordeValle in 2010, finishing tied for 33rd. Entering the week 142nd on the money list, he could certainly use a few more dollars in the bank to improve his status for 2013.

Chris DiMarco turned in a 2-under-par 32-37=69 in the final round of the John Deere Classic to conclude the tournament at 14-under 270.

His round started off on fire, with a birdie and an eagle in the first two holes. He would then hop on the par train until suffering his only two bogeys of the day on the 11th and 12th holes. He bounced back with a birdie on the par-4 14th before parring in. His 83.9 percent driving accuracy was near the top of the field. This marks his first top 10 since the 2010 Reno-Taho Open.

Chris DiMarco fired a 3-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round of the John Deere Classic.

The veteran circled his first three birdies in succession, beginning at the ninth and ending at the 11th, before adding a final birdie at the par-4 14th. His lone bogey was a three putt at the 18th. He split 12 (of 14) fairways and landed an impressive 15 GIR, while needing 30 putts to navigate TPC Deere Run. DiMarco enters the final round at 12-under 201, and in search of his first top 10 since the 2010 Reno-Taho Open.

Chris DiMarco chased his opening 66 at the John Deere Classic with a 4-under-par 33-34=67 in the second round to reach the midpoint in 9-under 133, four strokes adrift of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.

DiMarco split 11 (of 14) fairways today but only 11 greens. No biggie as he swallowed just one bogey, that a 6 at the 10th hole. Elsewhere, he converted an eagle-2 from six feet at the drivable 14th and three birdies, including rolls of 11'5" and 11 feet at the second and 16th, respectively. He also poured in respective par saves measuring 11'4" and 11'5" at Nos. 3 and 9.

Chrs DiMarco carded a 5-under-par 32-34=66 in his opening round of the John Deere Classic, finishing two strokes off the clubhouse lead.

Now 43 years of age, DiMarco is trying to hang on and make headlines again. Unfortunately, he's sputtered all season and arrived at TPC Deere Run ranked 136th in FedExCup points. He was vintage today though, splitting 13 (of 14) fairways and hitting 13 greens in regulation. He parlayed the taut ball-striking with six birdies, including conversions of 14'7", 12'7" and 12'8" at the 10th, 11th and third holes, respectively. He also circled a zero-putt birdie from four yards off the green at 13.

Chris DiMarco carded a 3-under-par 34-33=67 in his opening round of the Travelers Championship, finishing two strokes off the clubhouse lead.

DiMarco has been grinding all year. He's recorded only two top 25s among eight paydays in 18 starts, but he rolled in six birdies at TPC River Highlands today. The set included three from 10 feet or longer, the highlight a 16'6" conversion at the 12th hole. He also poured in a par save from 13'10" at the third.

Chris DiMarco carded a 4-under-par 31-35=66 in his opening round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

DiMarco's 2012 highlights have been limited to a pair of top 15s among six paydays in 15 starts. He's missed five of his last six putts, but his putter bailed him out today. He hit only 11 greens in regulation but converted seven birdies, four of which from beyond 10 feet including rolls of 24'5" and 15'5" at the fifth and 17th holes, respectively. After a pair of birdies inside six feet to start his round at holes 1 and 2, he poured in respective par saves from 25'5" and 10'4" at the third and fourth holes to maintain momentum. He staked the early clubhouse lead but it won't hold.

There will be a rare Chris DiMarco sighting at this week’s Shell Houston Open.

DiMarco was last seen at the Transitions Championship where he tied for 14th and broke a string of four consecutive missed cuts. Statistically, he’s still down the middle of the fairway splitting 67.64 percent of his fairways and holding his own with the putter ranking 27th in Strokes Gained-Putting. His struggles have predictably come with the length, as he’s 180th in driving distance and he’s struggled to hold the greens ranking 149th in GIR.

Chris DiMarco is quietly putting together a strong week at the Transitions Championship and his third-round 2-under 34-35=69 has him in a share of 10th entering the final round.

Like co-leader Jim Furyk, DiMarco is often thought of as a gritty competitor and a grinder. His 7-under 70-67-69=206 positions him for his first top-10 PGA TOUR finish since the 2010 Reno-Taho. DiMarco ranks in the top 10 in putting, GIR and driving accuracy for the week, so all phases of his game seem to be clicking.

Chris DiMarco was removed from the published field of this week's Mayakoba Golf Classic.

After a nice start to the year, he's chased a T52 at the Farmers with a pair of missed cuts. However, the Florida resident might be a sneaky investment in March when the TOUR migrates to his state.

Chris DiMarco spun an 8-under-par 32-32=64 at PGA West's Nicklaus Private Course in his second round of the Humana Challenge.

We may be witnessing a career rebound. After three years outside the top 125 in earnings, DiMarco finished 113th last year. He extended the positive trend at last week's Sony Open with a share of 13th place, and has brought the vibe to the desert this week. In addition to hitting all 14 fairways today, he hit 14 greens and needed only 24 putts. He birdied nine holes including all four par 5s. The 43-year-old then signed his card with early possession of the clubhouse lead at 12-under 132. He'll play Palmer Private in Saturday's third round.

Chris DiMarco spun a 5-under-par 36-31=67 in his opening round of the Memorial, finishing one back of the clubhouse lead.

DiMarco has shown brief flashes this year, but hasn't been able to put four rounds together. Today's score is his lowest in relation to par since he signed for a 67 in his opening round of last year's Reno-Tahoe Open, where he finished T10. That remains his only top 10 over the last two-and-a-half years. He converted eight birdies today, four of which measuring over 11 feet, including a roll of 22'10" at the fourth hole.
