Bill Lunde kept his name in the mix all day during round four of the Puerto Rico Open, penciling in a 4-under-par 33-35=68 to end the week on 18-under 270, good for a share of second place, two strokes off the winning pace of D.A. Points.
Playing on conditional status, Lunde was the last man to earn a spot in the field this week, on merit. He made sure he put the opportunity to good use, trading 23 birdies with just five bogeys on the week. His plan of attack was very balanced as he closed the week ranked T11 in fairways hit, T15 in GIR percentage, and 14th in Putts per GIR. Lunde was battling all day and made things really interesting when he chipped in for birdie at the 17th hole, getting within one stroke of D.A. Points to apply the pressure. He would go on to par the 18th while Points would birdie, but this week's result is still huge for Lunde. He picks up 116.66 FedExCup Points for his efforts and also earns a spot in next week's Shell Houston Open. Mar 26 - 3:09 PM

Overnight co-leader Bill Lunde maintained a steady pace in round three of the Puerto Rico Open, firing a 3-under-par 35-34=69, entering Sunday's finale just one stroke off the pace at 14-under 202.

Lunde started the day in a three-way tie at the top with Bryson DeChambeau and D.A. Points. He did not look air tight throughout the round today, three-putting for bogey at the par-4 seventh and backing it up with another bogey at the par-3 eighth. Despite the poor stretch, he remained calm to land 16 greens on the day. The 43-year-old has not finished inside the top 20 since a T7 at the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship. currently playing on conditional status, tomorrow poses a good opportunity for Lunde to collect a big finish and possibly earn a start at next week's Shell Houston Open.

With lift, clean and place in effect, World No. 1033 Bill Lunde styled a bogey-free 4-under-par 33-35=68 in the two-day second round of the Puerto Rico Open to post 11-under 133, good for a share of the 36-hole lead with Bryson DeChambeau and D.A. Points.

The 43-year-old is making his 142nd career start on the PGA TOUR with one win to his credit, the now-defunct Turning Stone Resort Championship. He won the final edition of the event in 2010, which was played in Verona, New York, coming from four back with 6-under 66 to win by one over J.J. Henry. The UNLV alum's last full season on TOUR was 2015 when he went 8-for-18 with one top 25 and finished 197th in the FedExCup standings. He was 4-under thru 15 holes on Friday when play was suspended and returned Saturday morning to write down three more pars. The San Diego native found 11 (of 14) fairways and 13 greens in regulation, circling Nos. 2, 3, 5 and 12.

Bill Lunde crushed Coco Beach Golf and Country Club in round one of the Puerto Rico Open, signing for a 7-under-par 33-32=65 to find himself inside the top 10 early on Thursday morning.

Playing in ideal scoring conditions this morning, Lunde traded eight birdies with just one bogey. Playing out of the Reorder Category - Beyond 150 money list category, this is just his second start of the season (T50 at Sanderson Farms). Lunde is taking full advantage of the rare opportunity as he missed just one fairway today en route to 14 greens in regulation. Playing his 19th career round at Coco Beach, this goes in the books as his new best, previously a 6-under 66 in R4 of his 2010 debut (T10).

Lunde finished the 2014 Web.com Tour season ranked 22nd in the money list to secure his card. He didn't make the most of his opportunities as he finished 197th in the FedExCup standings with an 8-for-18 overall record. After three legs of the Web.com Tour Finals, he sits in 29th place of the standings and is so close to the coveted 25th spot he can almost taste that PGA TOUR status.

Bill Lunde makes his 17th start of the season at this week's Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada.

Lunde graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and remains a Las Vegas resident. He secured his 2014-15 PGA TOUR card by finishing 22nd on the Web.com Tour money list, recording four top 10s on 20 starts, setting up his return to the TOUR, where he played full time in 2009-12. On the season, he's made seven cuts on 16 starts with a season-best T33 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open back in October, good for 198th in the FedExCup standings. The 39-year-old is 2-for-5 at the Barracuda with both cashes going for top 25s (18th/2012, T10/2010). Bill Lunde is set to make his sixth career Travelers Championship appearance and 13th start of his 2014-15 season.

Lunde sleepwalks into Cromwell, Connecticut, 190th in the FedExCup standings. The 39-year-old has missed more cuts (6) than he's made (5), adding a second-round WD during a weather delay in New Orleans (where he was going to miss the cut). The Web.com Tour grad, who ranks 33rd on the reshuffle list, has not finished inside the top 40 since the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October, his first start on the season. Bill Lunde posted a 3-under-par 35-34=69 in his opening round of the Wells Fargo Championship, finishing four strokes off the clubhouse lead.

The 39-year-old has PGA TOUR status via the Web.com Tour Finals, not that you'd be aware of it. He's 181st in the FedExCup standings with five paydays, none going for a top 30. So, the likelihood of him sustaining today's form for another 54 holes is against the odds. He buried five birdies, including on all four par 5s. Four of his par breakers disappeared from outside 12 feet, the most notable measuring 47'8" and 22'11" at the fifth and 10th holes, respectively. He went 3-for-5 in scrambling with two bogeys.

Bill Lunde withdrew during his second round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Lunde was laying 2 in the fairway at the par-5 18th hole when play was suspended on Friday. He was 3-over-par on the round and 8-over for the tournament, so he was already going to miss the cut. It's his sixth mid-tournament WD in 131 PGA TOUR starts and drops him to 5-for-9 on the season. The 39-year-old arrived sitting 178th in the FedExCup standings and without a top 30. Given his dearth of success, just getting to the Web.com Tour Finals seems like a reasonable goal right now.

Bill Lunde turns his attention for TPC Louisiana for his ninth start of the 2014-15 season at this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Lunde is 5-for-8 this season with no finishes inside the top 30. The five paydays are good enough for 178th in the FedExCup standings and 30th on the Web.com Tour reshuffle. The PGA TOUR winner lacks the upside he once did, but could be worth a look if earning a paycheck is one of the main objectives.

Bill Lunde arrives at this week's Puerto Rico Open ranked 163rd in the FedExCup standings.

He's completed the task while ranking outside the top 150 in both strokes gained:tee-to-green and strokes gained:putting. Lunde hasn't finished inside the top 25 since 2013, although he's only made it into just 10 PGA TOUR events during that stretch. Bill Lunde makes the fifth start of his 2014-15 PGA TOUR season at this week's Humana Challenge.

Lunde has enjoyed his share of success in this event, cashing checks on three of his four trips including a pair of top-15 finishes. A top 15 this week would come at just the right time. He's missed his last two cuts, including last week's Sony Open in Hawaii, and ranks a distant 147th in the FedExCup standings.

Bill Lunde collected two paydays during the Fall Series to arrive at 132nd in the FedExCup standings.

Starting the season at 41st in the reshuffle, Lunde climbed 11 spots during the first reshuffle, thanks to a pair of cuts made in three appearances, thus far. The 39-year-old missed the cut in his only PGA TOUR start last season. Lunde is five for his last 14 on the main circuit and can be ignored by gamers in most formats moving forward.

Bill Lunde navigated TPC Summerlin in bogey-free 5-under-par 33-33=66 during the third round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Four of Lunde's five birdies found the bottom of the cup from longer than 10 feet, as he gained well over two strokes with the flat stick. It wasn't just the putter propping him up. He landed 16 GIR as well. As a Web.com Tour graduate subject to the reshuffle, a solid finish on Sunday could do wonders for the number of tournaments he gains entry into the rest of the way. He enters the final round at 11-under 202.

Bill Lunde opened the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with a pair of 3-under-par 68s.

Lunde is fully exempt again (via the Web.com Tour Finals), but he needed a sponsor exemption to compete at TPC Summerlin this week. He lives locally and played collegiately at UNLV. Thus far, he's buried five birdies against two bogeys in each round. Today's set include a pair from 10-13 feet. At 6-under 136, he's three strokes adrift of the 36-hole clubhouse lead. This will go in the books as his first payday on the PGA TOUR since the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship.
