Adams circled seven birdies and tapped in 11 pars on his round, taking advantage of each of the four par 5s at Corales Golf Club. He entered the week 179th on the Web.com Tour money list, meaning a win this week would dramatically change his season.

Blake Adams no longer has status on the PGA TOUR but gets a crack at this week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am via a sponsor exemption.

Adams exhausted his Major Medical Extension following a missed cut at the CareerBuilder and also fell short of conditional status (by 101.780 FedExCup points). Unless something extraordinary happens this week, it's not going to get any easier for the 40-year-old to get starts, but there is a small ray of hope. He can reach back in the archives and find a T10 at Pebble Beach is his 2010 tourney debut, but subsequently, has missed the cut in three of his last four tries.

At 3-under-par 68-69-70-74=281, Blake Adams landed in a five-way share of 58th place at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba worth $13,764.00 and 11 FedExCup points.

He sat out the last few weeks of 2014-15, and then went 1-for-4 in the Web.com Tour Finals in a failed attempt for a safety net for his Major Medical Extension on the PGA TOUR. As his scores at El Camaleón indicate, the going got tougher every day for the 40-year-old. It won't get any easier moving forward. Adams now has only two starts on his MME to bank $326,341 or 192.327 FedExCup points to retain status. He's 101.78 FedExCup points shy of qualifying for conditional status as a backup. Since he's chosen not to peg it this week's RSM Classic, he'll have a couple of months to prep for his next start after the holiday break.

And to think he connected for 10 birdies at TPC Deere Run this week. Alas, Adams also squared five bogeys, two doubles and a triple en route to his fifth straight MC. Today's leaves him with just three starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $340,105 or 203.327 FedExCup points and retain status.

At last check, his strokes gained: tee-to-green was -7.777 for the round. This is his fourth consecutive MC and ninth in 12 starts this season. While he ranked ninth in strokes gained: putting with an aggregate clip of 4.613 at last check, even hit 14th club couldn't swerve around six bogeys and a double. He's now 3-for-11 on the season and has five starts remaining on his Major Medical Extension to collect $340,105 or 203.327 FedExCup points and retain status. At this point, assuming he burns through those starts this summer, his focus should truly be on the top 125 in the FedExCup standings. However, Adams entered the week a distant 192nd

Blake Adams shot 7-over-par 74-73=147 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and will miss the cut by a mile.

He sat T123 at last check in the field of 156. After hitting only six greens in regulation on Thursday during which he erased one birdie with five bogeys, Adams went 0-for-11 in scoring opportunities today with three bogeys. It's his seventh MC in 10 starts this season and leaves him with six starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $340,105 or 203.327 FedExCup points and retain status. At one time, those targets were not unreasonable, but that's no longer the case.

Blake Adams spun a bogey-free, 3-under-par 33-33=66 in today's second round of the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship but will miss the cut.

Adams played in the late-early draw, but we waited to see where the cut line went. At even-par 139, he was one outside the number, but it didn't drift in his favor. He opened with a five-birdie 73 that also included three bogeys, one double and a triple. Now 5-for-9 on the season, Adams has seven starts remaining on his Major Medical Extension to bank $340,105 or 203.327 FedExCup points and retain status.

Blake Adams missed the cut on the number at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Grouped in the late-early draw, Adams posted his second-round 66 before the suspension of play on Friday. He reached the midpoint in 4-under 140, which positioned him inside the cut line at the time he shook hands and signed his card. However, as scores went lower, the cut line eventually drifted to 5-under 139. Seventy-one golfers survived, including 23 on the number. So, instead of parlaying last week's T11 at Harbour Town into a fortnight of success, Adams drops to 2-for-7 on the season. This also leaves him with nine starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $353,666 or 204.237 FedExCup points and retain status.

At 3-under-par 69-72=141, Blake Adams missed the cut at the Shell Houston Open on the number.

If the objective was to find the putting surface at the par-3 ninth hole where he concluded today's round, he succeeded. However, Adams required three whacks from 54'10" to finish. His par try measured 55 inches. So, instead of connecting paydays, he's back on a slide. This leaves him with 11 starts on his Major Medical Extension to bank $483,466 or 267.237 FedExCup points and retain status.

Blake Adams conluded the Valero Texas Open with a 2-over-par 36-38=74 to post 10-over 298, good for a share of 58th place.

It's a baby step, but it's still forward progress. Adams didn't break par in any round, but red numbers came far and few between for most in the field of 144 at TPC San Antonio. It's his first payday in four starts this season. Adams collected $13,578 and 10.5 FedExCup points. He'll try to extend this mild success at the Shell Houston Open where he'll arrive with 12 starts remaining on his Major Medical Extension to earn $483,466 or 267.237 and retain status.

Blake Adams posted 4-over-par 38-38=76 in his opening round of the Valero Texas Open.

Back in play since the West Coast Swing, Adams erased two birdies with four bogeys and a double at TPC San Antonio today. He split eight (of 14) fairways, but hit just six greens in regulation. Despite the carnage, he's in the books at T57 on the leaderboard. Suffice it to say that he benefited from a tee time in the afternoon wave which averaged 74.86 to the early draw's 78.61. Friday's weather will be docile compared to today's. It'll be chilly in the morning, but light and variable winds will be accompanied by sunshine throughout the day.
