Fresh off a win on the Adams Tour, Colonial Country Club member Franklin Corpening will head back to his home course in anticipation of this week's DEAN & DELUCA Invitational.
Last week Corpening posted four sub-70 rounds en route to a victory at the Gateway Buick GMC Classic on the Adams Tour. The strength of field is obviously no comparison to this weeks, but that goes in the books as his first career win, so confidence should be at an all-time high. Better yet, the TCU product knows this week's venue like the back of his hand as he's a member of Colonial CC and even carded a closing round 8-under 62 in his 2013 debut on his way to a T14 finish. Gamers should not expect a repeat of that final round, but he could be a sneaky sleeper in deeper fantasy formats this week. May 24 - 8:31 AM

Franklin Corpening blitzed Colonial Country Club for an 8-under-par 31-31=62 in the final round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

The Web.com Tour player is fresh off a T3 at the BMW Charity Pro-Am where he led at the half-way point a week ago. He received a spot into the field for his first PGA TOUR event this week via past champion vote and did not disappoint. After opening with rounds of 68, 70 and 72, he circled nine birdies to just one bogey in his last lap around Colonial despite hitting just 13 GIR. A 1.385 putting average picked up any slack from his irons. At the time of his posting, he was tied for 10th with the leaders yet to tee off. He holed a 15'6" putt on the final hole to end the week at 8-under 272. Though it's a long shot, should he finish the round inside the top 10 he would earn a spot into the field at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
