Cameron Beckman was 0-for-1 during the fall schedule as he plays the 2016-17 campaign on Past Champion status.
The three-time TOUR winner went 2-for-10 last season and continues to slide with a missed cut at the Sanderson Farms Championship in his only start during the fall. Beckman hasn't cracked the FedExCup Playoffs since 2010, although he did highlight the 2013 season with a playoff loss at the Sanderson Farms. The 46-year-old is at a stage in his career where he's off the radar for season-long fantasy gamers, but he's still a few years away from the PGA TOUR Champions circuit. DFS gamers may want to give the San Antonio resident a glance when the TOUR heads to Texas this year, but that is the extent of his 2017 value. Mon, Dec 19, 2016 04:32:00 PM

Cameron Beckman launched out to a 5-under-par 33-34=67 in the first round of this week's Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach.

The PGA TOUR veteran arrived with missed cuts in three of his last four starts, but flipped a switch in round one today. Kicking off his round on the back nine, he lasted 15 holes without a blemish before dropping his lone shot of the day at the par-4 seventh hole. Landing just five (of 14) fairways on the day, Beckman still managed 11 greens in regulation, thanks to some almost none-existent rough. Gamers would like to see a little better accuracy off the tee, but should be very pleased with this opening-round effort from the three-time PGA TOUR winner.

Cameron Beckman will play this week's RSM Classic on a sponsor exemption.

He received the last sponsor exemption into the field of 156 at Sea Island Resort. Beckman last competed in the tournament in 2012 and finished last of the 71 who played 72 holes. It's his only payday in three tries. Perhaps he'll carry some momentum into this trip, however. A T25 at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba is his first top 35 on the PGA TOUR since he lost in a playoff at the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship (contested in July that year).

Cameron Beckman laced El Camaleón Golf Club for a bogey-free, 4-under-par 34-33=67 in today's opening round of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

He's 45 years old and on Past Champion status (again) but Beckman has a knack for making noise every now and then. Of course, he won this tournament in 2010, so it has a special place in his career. Today's loop was vintage as he poured in four birdies and scrambled three times. Beckman signed his card positioned two strokes off the clubhouse lead.

Past champ Cameron Beckman relies on a sponsor exemption to tee it up in his 15th Sanderson Farms Championship and second at the Country Club of Jackson.

You have to dig deep to find relevant stats on Beckman as he made just eight starts on the PGA TOUR last season, finishing 228th in the FedExCup standings, and none on the Tour. He is, however, a constant here in Mississippi, where he's making his 15th start in the event -- under four different tournament names -- and won his maiden TOUR title here in 2001 (Southern Farm Bureau Classic) at Annandale GC. More recently, the 45-year-old missed the cut by five at last year's CC of Jackson inaugural, after a P2 in the 2013 edition at Annandale GC.

Cameron Beckman manufactured 11 points in today's opening round of the Barracuda Championship.

The 45-year-old has everything to gain this week as he's outside the top 220 on TOUR in both FedExCup points and earnings. He found only nine greens in regulation, but figured out a way to seven birdies against three bogeys. He connected for consecutive birdies from off greens, first from a bunker 16 yards away at the par-4 fifth hole, and then from just off the putting surface, six yards away at the par-4 sixth. His longest conventional par breaker traveled 53 feet at the par-4 17th. Beckman even poured in a par save from 10'6" at the par-4 15th. It's the kind of display you'd expect from a guy with nothing to lose in a format that rewards going for broke. And now, he's only four points off the clubhouse lead.

Cameron Beckman has gained entry into this week's John Deere Classic.

Beckman started the week as the fifth alternate, and then wiggled in following two withdrawals. He'll be making his 15th appearance in this tournament. His first was in the last edition hosted by Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois, in 1999. All three of his top 25s at TPC Deere Run came consecutively (2007-2009), but he's gone 19 straight starts on the PGA TOUR sans a top-35 finish.

TPC San Antonio member Cameron Beckman completed his 20th appearance at the Valero Texas Open in 7-over-par 71-72-79-73=295.

Currently T43, this would be his best finish on the PGA TOUR this year (in three events) and his best overall finish since this same event last year where he finished 2-over which was good for a T36. Similar to last year's VTO, where he opened in 69-70 and was T4 through 36 holes, Beckman was near the top again this year at T11 through two rounds. Unfortunately, much the same as last year, where he crashed to a third-round 79, he the suffered the same demise this year with a third-round 77, costing the local resident any hope of contending.

Cameron Beckman walked to an even-par 35-37=72 in his second round of the Valero Texas Open.

If there's such a thing as the opposite of Moving Day, Beckman experienced it today. He didn't necessary make a stride toward victory, but he also didn't shoot himself out of the tournament. He split 11 (of 14) fairways and hit 11 greens in regulation while trading three birdies for three bogeys. His most notable birdie dropped from 12'11" at the par-3 16th hole, but Beckman's longest conversion disappeared for par from 15'7" at the par-4 first where he made the turn. At 1-under 143, the local resident is just five strokes off the 36-hole lead.

Cameron Beckman submitted a 1-under-par 35-36=71 for his opening round of the Valero Texas Open, finishing three strokes off the clubhouse lead.

Beckman doesn't warrant fantasy value anymore -- not that he had much in his glory days, anyway -- but this is a home game. He lives just a couple of minutes away from TPC San Antonio where he went 5-for-9 in scoring opportunities for five birdies today. His longest birdie traveled 26'10" at the par-3 seventh hole. The better of Beckman's two paydays in five starts on the track is but a T36 last year when he opened 69-70 in arguably better conditions.

Cameron Beckman competes in his 20th Valero Texas Open thanks to a sponsor exemption this week.

Beckman has played every edition of the VTO dating back to 1997 without fail, also teeing it up in 1993. He's missed 10 cuts and never cracked the top 10, but his loyalty to this event is admirable. Though he was born in Minnesota, he went to college at Texas Lutheran University, possibly explaining the love affair on both ends. He's missed three of his four cuts on TOUR this season, so there are not really any reasons to invest.

Cameron Beckman has been added to the published field of this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

The three-time PGA TOUR winner was the fourth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He was given a tee time thanks to six withdrawals. Beckman missed the cut in both of his starts in the fall. He's gone 16 consecutive starts on the TOUR without a top 35 (dating back to July of 2013). Perhaps this week's action will be boosted by the fact that he'll celebrate his 45th birthday on Sunday.

Cameron Beckman settled for a 3-over-par 37-36=73 at Brunswick (Ga.) Country Club in this week's open qualifier for The McGladrey Classic.

The three-time PGA TOUR winner squared three bogeys and failed to pick off a par breaker to finish seven swings adrift of the five-way playoff needed to send the final two into the tournament proper. Other notables that failed to survive include: 66 (lost in playoff)--Marc Turnesa; Casey Wittenberg ... 68--D.J. Trahan; Patrick Sheehan; Ben Kohles; Todd Demsey ... 69--Justin Bolli; Brad Adamonis; Brad Elder; Darron Stiles ... 70--Chris Smith; Cliff Kresge; Kyle Thompson; Paul Claxton; Edward Loar ... 71--Jeff Klauk; David Branshaw ... 72--Kevin Johnson ... 73--Len Mattiace; Frank Lickliter II; Jamie Lovemark; Bubba Dickerson ... 74--Nick O'Hern; Gavin Coles; Tommy Biershenk.

Cameron Beckman has been added to the published field of this week's RBC Canadian Open.

Beckman was the sixth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He should have risen to first alternate with the first wave of withdrawals, but Jason Gore also withdrew as second alternate. Beckman tied for 76th at the John Deere two weeks ago, but he's 203rd in FedExCup points and 209th in earnings. While seemingly always a threat to make a charge, he doesn't belong on any fantasy roster.

Cameron Beckman shot a 2-under-par 34-34=68 in his opening round of the Travelers Championship.

We never learned why he called it quits halfway into his second round in Memphis two weeks ago, but his owners will appreciate today's rapid recovery. Beckman hit 12 greens and circled five birdies against three bogeys at TPC River Highlands. His par breakers included a five-yard hole-out from the rough five yards away at the sixth hole and conventional conversions of 11'6" and 17 feet at Nos. 3 and 17, respectively. He's six strokes off the clubhouse lead.
