Harrison Frazar has elected not to compete at this week's Farmers Insurance Open.

Gamers won't miss him, but he still has status on the PGA TOUR via a Major Medical Extension. If he banks $535,516 or 325.087 FedExCup points in his next seven starts, he'll retain his position in the Priority Rankings for the remainder of the season. That's a serious long shot as he hasn't recorded a top-45 finish in 36 months.

Harrison Frazar will begin his 2014-15 season at next week's Frys.com Open.

It's the first tournament of the new schedule, so he's wasting no time to get back inside the ropes. However, it can't be easy given that he's gone 31 starts on the PGA TOUR without a top-45 finish. Frazar hasn't cracked the top 55 in his last 24. He still has 10 starts remaining on his Major Medical Extension to earn $548,236 or 332.087 FedExCup points and retain status, but the 43-year-old seems to be miles from the kind of form that would fulfill those terms.
