Brett Wetterich is scheduled to compete in this week's Barracuda Championship.
He was seventh alternate when the field was released on Friday, and then found his way in following nine withdrawals, including three alternates ahead of him in line. In his only starts in the last three seasons on the PGA TOUR, the former Ryder Cupper missed the cut at the Barbasol Championship three weeks ago. His previous start on TOUR resulted in a T21 at Montrêux in 2012. Wetterich will turn 42 years of age on Sunday. Mon, Aug 3, 2015 12:14:00 PM

Brett Wetterich has been removed from the published field of this week's Sanderson Farms Championship.

He hasn't played on the PGA TOUR this year primarily due to the lack of opportunities to play given his spot deep in the pecking order. So, he's focused on the Tour where he ranks 68th on the money list in eight starts. Look for him at this week's Midwest Classic. NOTE: Len Mattiace also withdrew as an alternate, also choosing to tee it up at the Midwest Classic.

Brett Wetterich is in the field for the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, where he was the winner in 2003 and 2011.

It doesn't seem that long ago that the bomber donned the U.S. Ryder Cup garb in 2006, but since then he's struggled with his game. This will be his first start of the season, so it's hard to know what to expect. Last season he split 22 starts between the and PGA TOUR, but failed to collectively rake in six figures. If there was ever a tournament where he might could snap out of his lengthy slump, this would be the one.

Brett Wetterich has been added to the published field of this week's Reno-Tahoe Open.

Wetterich was the second alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry thanks to three withdrawals this morning. He's cashed in just two of six starts this year, neither of which for a top 60.

Brett Wetterich has been added to the published field of this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Wetterich was the seventh alternate at the start of the week. He gained entry due to eight withdrawals today. He's struggled through a forgettable 2012, going 1-for-5 on the PGA TOUR and 1-for-4 on the Nationwide Tour, failing to post a top 60 in either.

Brett Wetterich gained entry in the Valero Texas Open in what marks his fourth start of the season.

His starts are precious, as he plays out of the Past Champions category. Wetterich's length could serve him well on the long TPC San Antonio layout as well as his eighth place ranking in driving accuracy. His only payday of 2012 came at the Mayakoba Golf Classic where he finished T63.

Brett Wetterich has gained entry into this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Wetterich was the first alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He earned a tee time due to four withdrawals early this week. Now saddled with Past Champion status for 2012, he'll eke his way into 12-15 tournaments unless he molds his schedule for the Nationwide Tour.

Brett Wetterich withdrew from Q School with one round to play.

Wetterich completed the fifth round in an aggregate 10-over-par 72-72-64-85-77=370. He shared 148th place and sat 17 strokes outside the top 25 that will earn 2012 PGA TOUR cards. The one-time winner on the circuit will settle for Past Champion status next year. Look for him to crack a handful of fields and spend the majority of his time on the Nationwide Tour.

With a share of 71st place at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Brett Wetterich fell short of meeting the terms of his Major Medical Extension by $208,388.

In what was his last start via the MME, Wetterich shot 1-under-par 68-70-71-74=283, earning $12,017.00. He needed no worse than a three-way T5 in Scottsdale to retain his card. However, because he cleared the threshold for conditional status (by $106,406), he will play out of that category for the remainder of the season. He was in the original field for this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, but has been bumped to eighth alterate.

Brett Wetterich is listed in the published field of next week's Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Wetterich has one start remaining on his Major Medical Extension to earn $220,405 and retain status. To meet that dollar figure next week, he would need no worse than a three-way T5. A solo sixth would come up short by $805. In his only previous appearance at this event, he finished T44 in 2007. If he fails to meet the terms of his MME, he will be demoted to the last spot in the priority ranking reserved for conditional status members (No. 27).

Wetterich only has one start left on his Major Medical Extension and he needs to earn $220,405 to retain his Major Medical status on the PGA TOUR. He has been replaced in the field by Alexandre Rocha.

Brett Wetterich signed for a final round of 1-over-par 73 and finished in a tie for 17th place at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

Wetterich on Saturday was on the first page of the leaderboard, but he flatten out at that point and never could really go low after that. Today's check for $72,850 now leaves him with one start left on his Major Medical Extension to make $220,405 to retain his Major Medical status on the PGA Tour.

Brett Wetterich completed 36 holes of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 6-over-par 73-75=148, missing the cut by 10 strokes.

He hit just 20 greens and still required 62 putts in his two loops of TPC Summerlin. This leaves him with two starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $293,255 and retain status. With just one event remaining, his MME will carry over into 2011 if necessary. If he fails to meet its terms at Disney in three weeks (if he even plays), Wetterich knows that he's already eligible for conditional status, so he'll be able to qualify for 15-20 starts next year anyway, depending on how many sponsor exemptions he receives.
