Tim Petrovic returns to TPC Deere Run for his ninth start at the John Deere Classic.
Petrovic has plenty of success to lean on at TPC Deere Run, with five top 30s in eight attempts, including 2009, when he shared a piece of the 54-hole lead before settling for a T5 finish. Unfortunately for gamers, he has missed 20 of his last 35 cuts on the PGA TOUR, and he's made just six starts this season. The upside is there for Petrovic this week, but the downside is also clear as day. Jul 8 - 9:25 AM

Tim Petrovic has been added to the published field of this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic.

He was the 12th alternate at the start of the week, but gained entry today when Charley Hoffman withdrew. Petro recorded the first of four career runner-up finishes on the PGA TOUR (to go with one title) in his debut at TPC Southwind in 2002. He's cashed in four of eight return trips, including a T56 last year when he sat one stroke off the 18-hole lead. This is his fifth start of the 2013-14 season that includes a T14 in Puerto Rico. He's 196th in the FedExCup standings.

Tim Petrovic has been added to the published field of this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Petrovic won the first edition of this tournament at TPC Louisiana in 2005, but he required a sponsor exemption to gain entry. All of his other three paydays went for top 25s, but it's been five years since his last (T11). This will be just his third start of 2013-14 due to Past Champion status.

Tim Petrovic carded a 4-under-par 33-35=68 in his opening round of the Puerto Rico Open.

Petro buried seven birdies against two bogeys today and finished one stroke off the early clubhouse lead. This is his 17th competitive loop at Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico, and it matches his lowest round thus far. He turned in a 68 in the third round in last year's edition. It's also just the third time that he's gone sub-70 on the layout.
Mar 6 - 11:11 AM

Tim Petrovic will tee it up in his sixth Puerto Rico Open this week.

Petrovic has been relegated to Past Champion status on the 2013-14 PGA TOUR, and has made just one other start this season. That went for a T36 in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. While he's made three of five cuts in this event, his T50 last year represented his best finish.

Mar 4 - 9:13 PM

Tim Petrovic has been added to the published field of this week's RBC Canadian Open.

Petrovic was the second of two alternates to replace withdrawals today. He's been limited to 10 starts on conditional status and ranks 186th in FedExCup points. He's only three weeks removed from a T9 at Greenbrier, which played to how Glen Abbey may set up this week.

Tim Petrovic spun a 2-under-par 33-35=68 in the final round of The Greenbrier Classic to finish up his week in West Virginia at 8-under 272.

Petrovic entered the week with nothing better than a T50 on his 2013 resume, but found The Old White TPC to his liking. The key to his week was the flat stick, ranking inside the top 10 in strokes gained putting. He finishes his evening inside the top 10, but there are still enough players on the course who could bump him down.

Tim Petrovic posted a 3-under-par 32-35=67 in his opening round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Petrovic hit 13 greens and circled five birdies, including conversions of 11'8" at the 15th hole and seven yards from off the green at 18. This is his lowest aggregate of 14 rounds on the PGA TOUR this year. He signed his card sitting one stroke adrift of the gaggle atop the leaderboard at TPC Southwind.

Tim Petrovic started off hot and kept the pace the rest of his opening round in the Mid-Atlantic Championship, co-leading after 18 holes at 5-under-par 31-34=65.

Petrovic parred the first hole, then rattled off birdies on his next four. A bogey at the sixth would quickly be erased by a birdie at the eighth. He picked up birdies on the 12th and 13th holes of TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm coming to the clubhouse, but stubbed his toe with a second bogey at the 18th. He shares the lead with Si Woo Kim. We last saw Petrovic on the Web.com Tour at the Stadion Classic at UGA, where he shared 13th.

Tim Petrovic makes his fifth start of the season at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

It's only the fifth start of the season for Petrovic, playing with conditional status. His only paycheck came at the Puerto Rico Open, sharing 50th. If there is any hope for him this week, it is that he owns three top 20s in past voyages to TPC Four Seasons.

Tim Petrovic turned in a 5-under-par 33-33=66 at Fox Hollow Golf Club in New Port Richey, Fla., good for co-medalist honors at the open qualifier for this week's Tampa Bay Championship.

Petrovic holed and eagle and five birdies to offset two bogeys to earn a spot into the tournament proper. He's competed in the last 11 of 12 editions of the PGA TOUR event at Copperhead. David Bradshaw also signed for a 5-under 33-33=66 thanks to six birdies at and eagle. Andy Pope and David Skinns secured the final two berths in a 3-for-2 playoff. Pope shot 4-under 33-34=67 (1 eagle, 5 birdies, 3 bogeys) and advanced on Monday. Skinns (4-under 36-31=67; 7 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 double bogey) returned to Fox Hollow this morning to eliminate Garrett Osborn (4-under 33-34=67; 1 eagle, 4 birdies, 2 bogeys). The playoff was suspended for darkness yesterday after four holes. The field for the Tampa Bay Championship is now complete at 156.

Tim Petrovic will kick of his 2013 PGA TOUR season at the familiar confines of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Petrovic is playing 2013 with conditional status, meaning he has no choice but to make the best of his limited opportunities to tee it up. Familiarity will be on his side this week, having played in this event each of the last 11 years. His best three tournaments were his first three, starting with a T12 then a T13 and a T21. Since then, he hasn't gotten the breaks to warrant the loyalty he's shown the event, so maybe the course owes him one.

Tim Petrovic played with limited status in 2012 and enters the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic 134th on the money list.

The past champion cashed in seven of his 16 starts, with a runner-up at the Frys.com Open his major windfall. At this point, he’s assured of partial status in 2013, but would love the chance to set his schedule by virtue of a top 125 spot on the money list. His strength is the short game, ranking fourth in scrambling and 44th in strokes gained-putting.

Tim Petrovic has been added to the published field of this week's McGladrey Classic.

As the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon, he would have gained entry on merit since there were three withdrawals this morning, but his top 10 (co-runner-up) at the Frys.com Open already secured this week's berth. Petrovic carded progressively lower rounds at CordeValle, concluding with a 64 to record the second-largest payday of his career. He's 1-for-2 at Sea Island with a T45 in 2010.

Tim Petrovic is the unexpected leader of the Frys.com Open after a final-round 7-under-par 30-34=64 vaulted him into the lead at 15-under 269.

Petrovic entered the week 200th on the money list, and in desperate need of a huge week to improve his status for 2013. He managed to break par in each of his four laps around CordeValle Golf Club, needing a combined 49 putts over his final 36 holes. In the finale, he circled seven birdies and an eagle to just two bogeys, and scared the lip of the cup from 25'11" on the 18th hole to take it one deeper. He will now sit back and wait to see how the final groups perform on the closing stretch, crossing his fingers that a second PGA TOUR victory could come his way later this afternoon.
