Duffy Waldorf has elbowed his way into the published field of this week's Puerto Rico Open.
Well, when you're the 10th alternate when the field is released, it's an opposite event and an opportunity needs to present itself to play, Waldorf didn't quite force his way into the field of 132 at Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico. He hasn't played the PGA TOUR since May of 2013, but he's 4-for-4 in this week's event. Meanwhile, the 52-year-old is still chasing his first title on the Champions Tour. He's winless in 53 starts. Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's Barracuda Championship. UPDATE: Waldorf has remained committed to the 3M Championship.

He started the week as the 15th alternate, but gained entry when Bo Van Pelt withdrew. Since Waldorf hasn't played the PGA TOUR all year and he's scheduled to peg it at the Champions Tour's 3M Championship, it would be surprising if he sticks with the commitment in Reno. He's currently 14th on the senior circuit's money list.

Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Waldorf started the week as the sixth alternate. He gained entry when Dustin Johnson withdrew. Waldorf has played all three circuits run by the PGA TOUR this season, and he's cashed in at least one start in each. He shared 41st place at last year's stop in Irving, Tex.

Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's Valero Texas Open.

Waldorf was the eighth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He was the last of the alternates to gain entry with today's tidal wave of withdrawals. Now 50 years of age, the affable four-time PGA TOUR winner -- including twice at this tournament (1995, 1999) -- has made four starts on the Champions Tour this year in addition to his lone appearance on the PGA TOUR (Puerto Rico). He's cashed in all five starts. He's 0-for-2 at TPC San Antonio.

Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's Puerto Rico Open.

Waldorf was the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry after multiple golfers withdrew. Now 50 years of age, you'll see him on the Champions Tour most of the time but that circuit is dark until next week's Toshiba Classic in California.

Duffy Waldorf posted a 5-under-par 34-32=66 in his opening round of the John Deere Classic, finishing five strokes off the clubhouse lead.

Waldorf hit 16 greens and buried six birdies, including rolls of 22'6", 19'4" and 25'2" at the eighth, 11th and 12th holes, respectively. The last time he opened with a score this low was at TPC Summerlin in October 2007; he shot a 66 also that day.

Duffy Waldorf will tee it up for the eighth time this season at the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run.

Waldorf has made the most of his limited opportunities, cashing in six events with a season-best T24 at the FedEx St. Jude Open in his last start. In his 2011 trek to the John Deere Classic he signed for a final-round 76 to drop to 73rd place. His 66.14 percent GIR clip is among the best on TOUR.

Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Waldorf was the first alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry via two withdrawals this morning. He's 5-for-6 on the PGA TOUR and 2-for-5 on the Nationwide Tour this year. He hasn't appeared at TPC Southwind since 2007 when he placed T12. Stuck in the Past Champion category and about to turn 50 (in August), he is not a viable fantasy investment.

Duffy Waldorf has been added to the published field of this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Waldorf was the second alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry after two withdrawals this morning. This will mark his 15th appearance at the HPBNC, but just his second in the last six editions. He missed the cut last year. Waldorf has virtually zero fantasy value. He's on Past Champion status and will turn 50 years of age in just over three months.

Duffy Waldorf has been removed from the published field of this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Waldorf lost his status in the reshuffle after failing to meet the terms of his medical extension at last week's Valero Texas Open. He will play out of the Past Champions category for the remainder of the year.

Duffy Waldorf completed 36 holes of the Valero Texas Open in 6-over-par 76-74=150 and will miss the cut.

This will do it for his fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR. Waldorf needed at worst a four-way share of second place or solo third to secure conditional status for the remainder of the year. Instead, he'll fall $405,514 short of that secondary goal. Only a victory at the VTO would have elevated him to a higher spot in the overall pecking order since he finished $720,308 short of meeting the terms of his medical extension.

Duffy Waldorf is listed in the published field of next week's Valero Texas Open.

Waldorf hasn't had any fantasy value in years but we've been tracking his status since he had knee surgery in May 2008. If he doesn't withdraw before his tee time at TPC San Antonio next week, it will serve as his final start on his medical extension in the reshuffle category. The purse at the VTO is $6.2 million, which means that if Waldorf is going to earn a promotion in status, he needs to win the tournament since a solo second would fall short of his goal for the medical by $50,708. To secure conditional status, he needs to bank $405,514 which would be achieved with a four-way T2 worth $409,200 or a solo third that pays $421,600. Short of that and he'll tumble into the Past Champions category.

Duffy Waldorf carded a 5-over-par 37-40=77 in his third round of the Shell Houston Open and failed to suvive the 54-hole cut.

He pocketed $10,380.00 for his effort, his fourth payday in as many starts this year, but it leaves him with one start on his medical extension in the reshuffle to earn $720,308 and an elevation into the Major Medical Extension category. To secure conditional status, he'll need to bank $405,514 in his next start. Short of that and he'll fall into the Past Champions category for the remainder of the year.

Duffy Waldorf settled for a share of 48th place at the Puerto Rico Open.

He completed 72 holes in 2-under-par 73-69-74-70=286, earning $8,484.00. He's 3-for-3 on the year but still hasn't cracked a top 25 since June 2007. This leaves him with two starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $730,688 and get elevated to the Major Medical category.

Duffy Waldorf complete 72 holes of the Farmers Insurnace Open in 1-over-par 70-69-75-75=289, good for a share of 66th place worth $12,240.00.

If there's any good news, it's that he's cashed in four consecutive starts for the first time since the first half of 2007. He now has three starts remaining on his medical extension in the reshuffle to earn $739,172 and get elevated to the Major Medical category.
