Mark Brooks makes his annual pilgrimage to the Humana Challenge thanks to his victory in the 1996 edition.

There is a special exemption granted to all past champions who won the event prior to 1999. Brooks always shows up to the three-course rotation with a smile on his face, despite not having finished inside the top 30 in this event since the win in '96. He offers gamers nothing in terms of fantasy value.

We last saw the major champion at the Bob Hope Classic, where he withdrew before his fourth round for an unspecified reason. He's on Past Champion status and not worth your fantasy investment, although his last top-35 payday was at Pebble Beach in 2009 (T10). He'll turn 50 years of age on March 25.

Mark Brooks withdrew prior to his fourth round of the Bob Hope Classic.

He was scheduled to go off the first hole at SilverRock's Palmer Course at 10:27 a.m. PT. Brooks was 4-over through 54 holes, and would have probably needed to break 60 today to make the cut. He's on Past Champion status, so we'll add him to our injury report. The seven-time PGA TOUR winner will turn 50 years of age on March 25, thus becoming eligible for the Champions Tour.
