Billy Andrade captured the 1998 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey and has received a sponsor exemption into this week's edition at Royal Montreal GC.
Ironically enough, Andrade didn't play the 2001 stop in Canada, which was the most recent one held at Royal Montreal, despite having teed it up 20 times. He missed the cut in this event last year one week after sharing fifth in the Sanderson Farms Championship. He is now focusing his attention primarily on the Champions Tour. Jul 23 - 12:26 PM

Billy Andrade finished off his week at the Sanderson Farms Classic with a bogey-free 7-under-par 31-34=65 and scored his first top-10 finish since 2006 at 17-under 271.

It's hard to imagine that the 2006 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee was the last time we've seen Andrade inside the top 10, but that is the case. His round featured five birdies and an eagle, splitting 12 (of 14) fairways and landing 15 GIR. In fact, at the time of his posting he was second in the field in GIR with 58/72 (80.56 percent). Perhaps all of that strolling the fairways with a microphone in hand has inspired him to some fine play.

Billy Andrade makes a rare appearance on the PGA TOUR at this week's RBC Canadian Open.

Playing with Past Champion status, this will mark the first time in 2012 that Andrade has made a start this year. In fact, he made just three last season and did not cash a check. When this event was last hosted at this year's stop, Hamilton Golf & Country Club, he finished T72.

Billy Andrade was added to the published field of this week's Buick Open.

Andrade was the fourth of six alternates to get added in this morning's wave of withdrawals. Including the missed cut at the Canadian Open, he's cashed in just two of 15 starts in 2009. This will be the veteran's 14th appearance at Warwick Hills.

Billy Andrade carded a 4-under-par 33-33=66 in the opening round of the Travelers Championship.

So much for the inconvenience of the pulled muscle that bounced him during his second round of the Memorial. Today's loop of TPC River Highlands included an eagle-2 at the drivable 15th hole, where he drained a putt from 5'4". Andrade hadn't signed for a 66 or lower since his opening 66 at last year's Wyndham.

Billy Andrade is listed in the published field of next week's Travelers Championship.

The pulled muscle that Andrade suffered at the Memorial will determine if he makes his 22nd consecutive start at the Travelers. Obviously, the New England native is a staple at the event, but don't staple him to your fantasy roster.

Billy Andrade withdrew during his second round of the Memorial due to a pulled muscle in his rib cage.

Reduced to Past Champion status for the first time in his career, the 45-year-old has cashed in just two of 12 starts in 2009. He was 2-over on his round today and 6-over through 29 holes when he pulled out.

Billy Andrade has been added to the field of the Frys.com Open.

Andrade has made nine out of 22 cuts this season, but he has made two of his least three cuts on the Tour. He played in last year's Frys.com, but he failed to make the cut.

Billy Andrade was added to the field of the Valero Texas Open on Monday.

Andrade has made 9 out of 21 cuts this season and he currently is 185th on the Tour's Money List.

Billy Andrade is in the published field at next week's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

For the first time since his rookie season of 1988, Andrade finished outside the Top 125 on the PGA Tour money list. Burdened with conditional status and sponsor's invites setting his schedule, the likeable Rhode Islander will have his mettle tested. When he was fully exempt, he was a relatively steady but not sparkling fantasy player. Don't lose sleep if another owner swipes him up.

Billy Andrade shot a six-over-par 77 Friday, missing the Barclays cut and earning elimination from this year's FedExCup playoffs.

Andrade's second-round disaster was especially disappointing because he looked to be in fine shape to advance to the next tournament after an opening-day 68. He headed a group of nine golfers eliminated from the playoffs that included Alex Cejka, John Merrick, Anders Hansen, Jesper Parnevik, Shigeki Maruyama, Michael Putnam, Bob Tway, and Jeff Gove. Tripp Isenhour and Gavin Coles (who both withdrew from the Barclays Thursday) will join the others in an extended break until the Fall Series begins after the Tour Championship.

Billy Andrade withdrew on Monday morning from the Reno-Tahoe Open.

The withdrawal by Andrade is a bit of a surprise because he is only 15 spots above the cutoff for the FedEx cup playoffs. He has been replaced in the field by Bob Burns, whose only made cut this year was a T-68 at the AT&T Classic.

Billy was 1-over-par for the day when he withdrew after the eighth hole of his second round. We will update if a reason is given for his withdrawal.
