Tag Ridings will have one start on a Non-exempt Medical Extension to collect $658,698 or 396.253 FedExCup points and get promoted to the Major Medical category.
Those are the official targets, but for all intents and purposes, Ridings would probably have to win to meet those terms. Of course, if that happens -- he's winless in 218 PGA TOUR starts -- then he'd receive a plethora of other perks on top of a two-year exemption anyway. He received the medical for a back injury after making just 12 starts on conditional status. He cashed in four of his first five, and then missed the cut in his last seven. If you're in a league that drafts every golfer with a shred of status that played at least once in 2013-14, then Ridings gets the treatment infamously reserved for the worst athlete in gym class; that is, he'd get picked last. Among all that fit that criteria, his fantasy value is nearest zero. Oct 4 - 7:29 PM

Tag Ridings has his sights set on a 2014-15 PGA TOUR card at this week's Web.com Tour Championship.

Ridings ranks 26th on the Web.com Tour Finals money list of players not already fully exempt for the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season. He must crack the top 25 on that list if he is to return to the PGA TOUR for another stint. His T12 at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship is his second top-25 finish of the Finals. A third would likely be good enough for a coveted card.

Tag Ridings has been removed from the published field of this week's Wyndham Championship.

Ridings missed the final seven cuts of his season and sits 219th in the FedExCup standings. He survived just four of 12 cuts overall. And at 197th on the Web.com Tour money list in five starts, he's headed for Q School.

Tag Ridings has been added to the published field of this week's Greenbrier Classic.

The soon-to-be 40-year-old (Sept. 7) started the week as the eighth alternate, but gained entry when Jerry Kelly withdrew and alternates Fabian Gomez and Greg Owen elected to remain committed to the Nova Scotia Open on the Web.com Tour. In fact, Ridings was also in the field in Canada before his number was called for Greenbrier today. He's 4-for-8 on the season without a top 40 and ranks 210th in FedExCup points. But if you're curious why he's choose to play this week, his only top 10 on the PGA TOUR since 2010 is a T9 at last year's stop at The Old White TPC.

Tag Ridings has been added to the published field of this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Ridings was the second alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry with several withdrawals today. Saddled with conditional status, he's just 4-for-6 on the season and sits 207th in FedExCup points. He's also cashed just once in four tries on the Web.com Tour this season. If there's a glint of good news, the journeyman has survived the cut in each of his last three appearances at TPC Southwind dating back to 2009.

Tag Ridings has been added to the published field of this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Ridings was the fourth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry when Chesson Hadley withdrew today. Ridings is 3-for-4 on the season but has finished no better than T55 at the Farmers. He's cashed only once in six appearances at TPC Louisiana (T26, 2011).

Tag Ridings has been added to the published field of this week's Farmers Insurance Open.

Ridings started the week as the eighth alternate. He had entered the field once before when Bud Cauley was removed, but there was apparently some confusion over Cauley's decision since Ridings didn't appear in the live scoring at PGATOUR.com until he teed off the first hole at Torrey Pines South this morning. Ridings has conditional status this season. In his only previous start, he co-medaled for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba and finished T69 in the tournament proper.

Tag Ridings faces the challenges of the 2013-14 PGA TOUR with only conditional status.

The veteran journeyman made 10 (of 24) cuts in 2013, eventually finishing 142nd in the FedExCup standings. Considering there are several Web.com Tour grads with much better status that didn't even get into any of the first six events, starts will be a challenge for Ridings. He garnered a start in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, finishing a distant T69, but he gained entry as an open qualifier.

With a 68 at Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf Club in Cancún, México, Tag Ridings shared medalist honors at today's open qualifier for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

The veteran was matched by PGA TOUR winner Len Mattiace and non-member Jay McLuen. Tim Petrovic carded a 70 to secure the final of four berths into the tournament proper. Ridings rose to 11th alternate following this morning's wave of field changes. He hasn't played anywhere since sharing 29th place at the Web.com Tour Championship, but he has conditional status on the PGA TOUR this season for finishing 142nd in FedExCup points during the 2013 campaign. Mattiace and Petrovic have PGA TOUR status via the Past Champions category. McLuen is 0-for-1 on the PGA TOUR (2013 Travelers) and has failed to cash in all six career appearances on the Web.com Tour from 2003-2010. The field for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba is now complete at 132.

Tag Ridings will tee it up for the fourth time at Sedgefield Country Club in the Wyndham Championship.

Ridings has played in seven previous editions of the tournament, but has missed the cut in all three at the current venue. While he's outside the top 125 in the FedExCup Standings, his 138th ranking still means he has a realistic shot at earning a tee time at The Barclays. Too bad course history isn't in his corner.

Tag Ridings completed his week at The Greenbrier Classic with an even-par 33-37=70 to finish the week at 8-under 272.

Ridings had the irons working at The Old White TPC, landing 58 GIR for the week and finishing the tournament inside the top five in that category. His previous best finish this year was a T15 at the Farmers Insurance Open. He's currently fighting to hold on to a spot inside the top 10, but has assured himself his best finish of 2013.

Tag Ridings turned in a 2-under-par 32-36=68 in the third round of The Greenbrier Classic and has his sights set on a top-10 finish at 8-under 202.

Ridings circled three birdies to just one bogey in his trot around The Old White TPC. He needs a big week to vault inside the top 125 in the FedExCup standings. In real time, he is projected 126th in points and in a tie for seventh in the tournament. He landed an impressive 16 GIR on the afternoon.

Tag Ridings followed up a 5-under-par 65 in the opening round of The Greenbrier Classic with a 1-under 36-33=69 in his second lap around The Old White TPC.

Ridings picked up four birdies and gave back three bogeys on the morning. All of his major statistical splits took a step back in round two, splitting 11 fairways, 13 GIR and losing a little ground to the field with the putter. He enters the weekend in great position to pick up his third top 20 of the season.

Tag Ridings took it low in his opening round of The Greenbrier Classic, signing for a 5-under-par 31-34=65.

Ridings blitzed The Old White TPC for eight birdies, but surrendered three bogeys. Included in that was a run of four consecutive birdies on the par-4 fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh holes. He was throwing darts, as all of them fell from inside 12 feet. He finished his round with a 10'1" birdie on the par-5 17th and an 11'2" deuce on the par-3 18th.

Tag Ridings spun a 5-under-par 32-33=65 in his second round of the Travelers Championship to reach the midpoint in 7-under 133, good for outright possession of the early 36-hole clubhouse lead.

Ridings arrived in Connecticut ranked 141st in FedExCup points due to just two top 25s among six paydays. Today's loop of TPC River Highlands was his lowest aggregate on the PGA TOUR since his first round on the course in the 2011 edition (en route to a T43). He hit 14 greens in regulation and buried seven birdies of which five measured 10 feet or longer. The highlight was an 11-yard hole-out from off the green at the par-3 eighth hole. The 38-year-old has yet to win a TOUR event.
