Charles Warren has begun the next phase in his life as an area vice president for an insurance brokerage firm.
The 37-year-old former PGA TOUR member accepted a job with Arthur J. Gallagher in his residence of Greenville, S.C. As for his decision to leave the life as a touring professional, the husband and father of two took a pragmatic approach. "I last played [full-time] on the PGA Tour in 2010, and I really gave myself two years to get back there," he told Upstate Business Journal. "In 2011 and 2012 I was playing on the Web.com Tour. ... I wasn’t playing great, and I wasn’t into it, and wasn’t happy with it. If you aren’t in the right place mentally, you can’t do it effectively at all. You can’t do it unless you are 100 percent committed. Then, last October, I decided it was time for a new chapter. ... I didn’t want to spend five or six years on the Web.com Tour trying to get back out there while also managing family life and home life." Warren went 105-for-197 on the PGA TOUR for $5.14 million. His career-best finish was a co-runner-up at the 2007 Reno-Tahoe Open. Tue, Apr 16, 2013 10:53:00 PM

Charles Warren was added to the published field of this week's Frys.com Open. UPDATE: Within 30 minutes after he was added to the field, he was removed. He'll tee it up at this week's Children's Hospital Classic on the Nationwide Tour instead.

Can't blame the long-hitter since he's 57th on the Nationwide Tour money list, which gives him a better chance of securing fully-exempt status on the PGA TOUR in 2012, but his best finish on the PGA TOUR over the last three-and-a-half years was a T6 at last year's Frys.com at CordeValle. Warren is 214th on the PGA TOUR money list with four paydays in 10 starts. He was the first alternate at the Frys.com when the field was published on Friday afternoon.

Charles Warren was removed from the published field of this week's RBC Canadian Open.

Sitting deep in the conditional status category, Warren is 3-for-9 on the PGA TOUR, so he's going to tee it up at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational on the Nationwide Tour in Columbus, Ohio this week. NOTE: Matt Weibring (second) and Marco Dawson (seventh) also withdrew as alternates from the RBC, opting to play in Ohio as well.

Charles Warren posted the low third round on Saturday when he carded a 6-under-par 65 and he is two-strokes off the lead at the Mayakoba Golf Classic.

Warren's round included an eagle, five birdies and a bogey. The round also moved him into a tie for second place, with J.P. Hayes. Last year Warren finished in 147th place on the Tour's Money List, so a victory on Sunday would upgrade him to full-exempt status on the PGA Tour through the 2012 season.

Charles Warren was added to the published field of this week's Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Warren started the week as the seventh alternate and gets in with Brad Adamonis' withdrawal. (Troy Kelly and Tyler Aldridge also withdrew as alternates on Monday.) Warren has a pair of T-10s at this event and could be a factor again. He needs to bank about $375K to lock up fully exempt status for 2010. Scott Sterling and Tag Ridings also withdrew as alternates today to play in the Soboba Classic on the Nationwide Tour (with Kelly and Aldridge).

Charles Warren shot a 7-under-par, bogey-free 32-31=63 in the opening round of the Travelers Championship.

Warren missed just one (of 14) fairways and two GIR en route to a share of the clubhouse lead. Stuck with conditional status, this is just his 11th event of 2009, but he's a mild sleeper in weekly leagues because of his above-average ball-striking.

Charles Warren shot 84-76=160 at the Memorial, missing the cut by 10 strokes.

Warren found just half his GIR and still needed 64 putts to post a number. This was his first action since withdrawing from the AT&T Classic with a wrist injury. Friday's 76 is his lowest score in his last six rounds on tour. He'll give it another go at next week's St. Jude, where he finished T-55 a year ago. But leagues that reward positive play should avoid him like a 1-iron right now.

Charles Warren withdrew on Friday morning from the AT&T Classic due to a wrist injury.

Warren posted a 10-over par 82 in the opening round, which comes immediately on the heels of a 77-82=MC effort at THE PLAYERS. In 13 starts this year, Warren made 80 percent of his earnings at the FBR, where he finished solo 3rd. With mild success at the AT&T Classic, he entered the week as a sleeper but should be shelved until further notice.

Charles Warren is in the field this week at the AT&T Classic.

Warren finished in third place earlier this season at the FBR Open, but recently he has been pretty cold with two made cuts in six events. He has had some success at the AT&T Classic with a T-10 in 2005 being his best result.

Charles Warren is in the field of this week's Shell Houston Open.

Warren is coming off of a T-23 finish at the Zurich Classic, which was his best finish since his third place at the FBR Open. He has played at the Houston Open three times and his best finish was a T-13 in 2005.
