Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship.
He's been known to do this. The next time he pegs it, the 52-year-old will still have six starts remaining on his medical extension in the reshuffle to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. Should he opt for a start on the Champions Tour the same week that he'd be eligible on merit on the PGA TOUR, he'd lose a start on his medical. May 26 - 11:14 AM

Neal Lancaster arrived at the halfway point of the Zurich Classic in 2-over-par 74-72=146, seven swings too many to play on.

This marked Lancaster's debut on the PGA TOUR this season. He still has status via a medical extension in the reshuffle category, but for most intents and purposes, he's a Champions Tour golfer now. At TPC Louisiana, he hit 25 greens in regulation and circled seven birdies, but the 52-year-old also absorbed seven bogeys and a double. He now has six starts remaining on the medical to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category.

Neal Lancaster has planned a rare appearance on the PGA TOUR in next week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The 52-year-old made only one start on TOUR last season and missed the cut at Greenbrier. He's a sometimer on the Champions Tour, but still has status on the big stage via a medical extension in the reshuffle category. Should he earn $727,814 in seven starts, he'll be promoted to the Major Medical category. Of course, this is merely academic at this stage of his career, but it's a nice perk when he wants to give his game a test. If he doesn't withdraw, he'll be making his debut at TPC Louisiana.

Neal Lancaster's medical extension in the reshuffle category on the PGA TOUR was extended yet again for 2014-15.

Lancaster's medical dates back to 2010, but he still needs to bank $727,814 in his next seven starts to earn a promotion to the Major Medical category. (He's $504,566 shy of conditional status.) The 52-year-old made only one start on the PGA TOUR in 2013-14, missing the cut at The Greenbrier Classic, but he went 1-for-2 on the Champions Tour. He then placed T14 at Champions Tour Q School on Friday to earn the opportunity to peg it in open qualifiers at co-sponsored events on that circuit. Should Lancaster compete on the Champions Tour when eligible on merit for the PGA TOUR event in the same event, he will forfeit a start on his medical.

Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's Wyndham Championship.

Lancaster lives in Smithfield, North Carolina, which is 100 miles or so from Sedgefield, but he'll end the season with seven starts remaining on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. He made only one start this season, missing the cut at Greenbrier. NOTE: Vaughn Taylor, Jesper Parnevik and Marco Dawson also withdrew as alternates. Taylor is slated to play the News Sentinel Open on the Web.com Tour. Dawson is scheduled to play the Champions Tour's Dick's Sporting Good Open. Parnevik is snorkeling.

Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's John Deere Classic.

We just knew that it was too good to be true after he missed the cut at Greenbrier. Lancaster hasn't competed in consecutive weeks on the PGA TOUR since August of 2009. Neal Lancaster completed 36 holes of The Greenbrier Classic in 13-over-par 73-80=153 and will miss the cut.

Making his first appearance in a PGA TOUR event since the 2013 Wyndham Championship, Lancaster hit only 17 greens in regulation and picked off just four birdies at The Old White TPC this week. He offset with 11 bogeys and three doubles. This leaves him with seven starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category.

Neal Lancaster has been added to the published field of this week's Greenbrier Classic.

He was the fourth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. With three withdrawals today, it could be assumed the Lancaster received the last sponsor exemption, but that cannot be confirmed at the moment. He popped up in the field at the Travelers two weeks ago, but didn't make it to midday on Tuesday of tournament week before he had withdrawn. If he honors this week's opportunity, he'll be making his first PGA TOUR start since last year's Wyndham. Lancaster has eight starts remaining on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category.

Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's Travelers Championship.

It would have been his first action on the PGA TOUR since the 2013 Wyndham Championship. Instead, he'll remain parked on eight starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category.

Neal Lancaster is listed in the published field of next week's Travelers Championship.

The 51-year-old hasn't played the circuit since missing the cut at last year's Wyndham Championship. In fact, his only action anywhere in 2014 resulted in an MC at the Senior PGA Championship three weeks ago. He still have eight starts on a medical extension in the reshuffle category on the PGA TOUR to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. He hasn't logged a top 50 since the now-defunct Buick Open in August of 2009.

At 2-over-par 70-72=142, Neal Lancaster will miss the cut at the Wyndham Championship.

Lancaster erased five birdies with five bogeys and a double at Sedgefield this week. The failure to cash leaves him with nine starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. Meanwhile, he's already earned more in six starts on the Champions Tour than he did in his last two seasons combined on the PGA TOUR.

Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's RBC Canadian Open.

He's not competing in the Senior Open Championship either. Lancaster, who withdrew early from his last commitment at the John Deere Classic, will sit on 10 starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $727,814 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. He's 234th in FedExCup points.

Neal Lancaster has been removed from the published field of this week's John Deere Classic.

He's not in the field at the U.S. Senior Open either, so he's merely taking a week off. His only fantasy value is on the Champions Tour, but even then it's marginal.

Neal Lancaster carded a 6-over-par 38-38=76 in his third round of The Greenbrier Classic to miss the 54-hole cut by two strokes.

Lancaster completed three rounds in 2-over 212 and earned $11,970.00. It leaves him with 10 starts on his medical extension in the graduate reshuffle to bank $727,814 and get promoted to the Major Medical category. He's scheduled to chase a second straight payday at this week's John Deere Classic.

Neal Lancaster is splitting time between the PGA TOUR and the Champions Tour in 2013, and showed no rust with a 5-under-par 32-33=65 in the opening round of The Greenbrier Classic.

Lancaster navigated The Old White TPC without a blemish, circling birdies on five different par 4s. The highlight was a 53'4" birdie on the 13th. It was so good he didn't even bother walking to the hole to pick it up. His last top 10 on the PGA TOUR was a T6 at the 2007 John Deere Classic, so it will be interesting to see what kind of pace he keeps the remainder of the week.
