Alex Aragon readies for TPC River Highlands at this week's Travelers Championship.

After a seven-year hiatus, Aragon has found his way back to this event. In his 2006 course debut, he tied for a share of 68th place, and hasn't been back since. The two-time Web.com Tour winner has failed to yield a top 25 on the PGA TOUR, in 46 career attempts. Aragon is 2-for-12 on the season, and should omitted from any fantasy rosters.

Alex Aragon makes his 11th start of the season at this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Aragon enters the week ranked 239th in the FedExCup standings. Only six golfers sit lower than him in the standings. With 10 starts in the 2014 campaign, you would hope for more than two cuts made, but that is where Aragon currently sits. His last trip to Las Colinas was in 2006 and he left that week without a paycheck.

Alex Aragon posted a 2-under-par 35-35=70 in his opening round of the Valero Texas Open, finishing two strokes back of the clubhouse co-leaders.

Aragon has been a non-factor in his return trip to the PGA TOUR this season. He's 0-for-7 after a T77/MDF at the season-opening Frys.com Open. Even today, he landed only 10 greens in regulation, but limited the negative to two bogeys, and one of those was a three-jack from 25'7" at the par-5 second hole. Elsewhere, he circled four birdies, including a 17-yarder from off the green at 3 and a conventional roll from 13'3" at 8. He also sunk a par attempt from 12'7" at 10.

Alex Aragon returns to Torrey Pines for his second attempt at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Aragon's first trip in 2006 was certainly a tale of two rounds. His first round resulted in an 11-over-par 83 on the more difficult Torrey Pines South course, but he rebounded with a 3-under 69 on the easier North course. As one might expect, he was nowhere near the cut line. Having made just one of five cuts in 2013-14, there isn't a strong reason to invest this week.

Alex Aragon hasn't been fully exempt on the PGA TOUR since 2006, but finds his way onto the 2013-14 TOUR via the Web.com Tour.

Aragon has sprinkled in a few starts over the last half-decade, but his win at the WNB Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour early in 2013 paved the way for a long-awaited return. In three starts, he's made just one cut which went for a T77 at the Frys.com Open. Considering the length of time it took him to make his way back and the early returns, invest with caution.

It was just a few hours ago that we alerted you that he gained entry as an alternate after a pair of late withdrawals. Well, he made it count at CordeValle by going 5-for-13 in birdie chances. After a pair of early bogeys, he played his final 13 holes in bogey-free 5-under. His set of five birdies included conversions from 15'7" at the ninth hole and 11'9" at 15. Alex Aragon turned in a final-round 6-under-par 31-35=66 at the WNB Golf Classic to claim his second career Web.com Tour win by a stroke over Byron Smith.

Aragon never held the lead until the final round, with his 16-under 71-69-66-66=272 gaining momentum as the week progressed. In the final round, he circled eight birdies to two bogeys in his lap around Midland CC. His second victory comes almost a year to the day of his first win at the TPC Stonebrae Championship, and moves him to sixth place on the Web.com Tour money list. That assures him a spot in the four-tournament playoff for a 2013-2014 PGA TOUR card.
