Alex Aragon twirled a 4-under-par 32-35=67 in today's opening round of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship and co-leads with Martin Flores.
Aragon cashed just eight of 21 times during the regular season, but a T3 in Utah in early August secured a berth into the Tour Finals. He opened the four-event series with a T37 in Indiana, and then missed the cut by five shots in North Carolina last week, so he arrived in Columbus, Ohio, slotted T63 among the golfers vying for the 25 PGA TOUR cards on the table. The former PGA TOUR member striped only five (of 14) fairways on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University today, but he totaled 15 greens in regulation and offset one bogey with five birdies. Alex Aragon returns to this week's Wyndham Championship for his first look at Sedgefield Country Club.

Aragon teed it up in the 2006 Wyndham Championship, played at Forest Oaks CC, but failed to make the weekend. Fast forward eight years, and he is now back to take on Sedgefield CC for his last hope to salvage a disappointing 2014 season. It's been a rough year, with 2-of-17 cuts made and just two sub-70 rounds in 37 stroke-play attempts. Don't bank on receiving anything fantasy-worthy this week from Aragon.

Alex Aragon has been added to the published field of this week's Greenbrier Classic.

Aragon was the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry following three withdrawals today. The 35-year-old journeyman has just two paydays in 13 starts this season, but neither went for a top 70.

Alex Aragon readies for TPC River Highlands at this week's Travelers Championship.

After a seven-year hiatus, Aragon has found his way back to this event. In his 2006 course debut, he tied for a share of 68th place, and hasn't been back since. The two-time Tour winner has failed to yield a top 25 on the PGA TOUR, in 46 career attempts. Aragon is 2-for-12 on the season, and should omitted from any fantasy rosters.

Alex Aragon makes his 11th start of the season at this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Aragon enters the week ranked 239th in the FedExCup standings. Only six golfers sit lower than him in the standings. With 10 starts in the 2014 campaign, you would hope for more than two cuts made, but that is where Aragon currently sits. His last trip to Las Colinas was in 2006 and he left that week without a paycheck.

Alex Aragon posted a 2-under-par 35-35=70 in his opening round of the Valero Texas Open, finishing two strokes back of the clubhouse co-leaders.

Aragon has been a non-factor in his return trip to the PGA TOUR this season. He's 0-for-7 after a T77/MDF at the season-opening Open. Even today, he landed only 10 greens in regulation, but limited the negative to two bogeys, and one of those was a three-jack from 25'7" at the par-5 second hole. Elsewhere, he circled four birdies, including a 17-yarder from off the green at 3 and a conventional roll from 13'3" at 8. He also sunk a par attempt from 12'7" at 10.

Alex Aragon has been added to the published field of this week's Valero Texas Open.

Aragon was the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry due to five withdrawals. Since opening the season with a T77/MDF at the Open, he's 0-for-7. This will mark his debut at TPC San Antonio.

Alex Aragon returns to Torrey Pines for his second attempt at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Aragon's first trip in 2006 was certainly a tale of two rounds. His first round resulted in an 11-over-par 83 on the more difficult Torrey Pines South course, but he rebounded with a 3-under 69 on the easier North course. As one might expect, he was nowhere near the cut line. Having made just one of five cuts in 2013-14, there isn't a strong reason to invest this week.

Alex Aragon hasn't been fully exempt on the PGA TOUR since 2006, but finds his way onto the 2013-14 TOUR via the Tour.

Aragon has sprinkled in a few starts over the last half-decade, but his win at the WNB Golf Classic on the Tour early in 2013 paved the way for a long-awaited return. In three starts, he's made just one cut which went for a T77 at the Open. Considering the length of time it took him to make his way back and the early returns, invest with caution.

Alex Aragon carded a 3-under-par 35-33=68 in his opening round of the Open.

It was just a few hours ago that we alerted you that he gained entry as an alternate after a pair of late withdrawals. Well, he made it count at CordeValle by going 5-for-13 in birdie chances. After a pair of early bogeys, he played his final 13 holes in bogey-free 5-under. His set of five birdies included conversions from 15'7" at the ninth hole and 11'9" at 15. He signed his card sitting two strokes off the clubhouse lead.

Alex Aragon has been added to the published field of this week's Open.

Aragon started the week as the fourth alternate. He gained entry thanks to two late withdrawals. He's played eight PGA TOUR events in the last seven years, but his last start as a member of the circuit occurred pre-FedExCup in 2006. Overall, he's just 8-for-34 with no top 25s.

Alex Aragon turned in a final-round 6-under-par 31-35=66 at the WNB Golf Classic to claim his second career Tour win by a stroke over Byron Smith.

Aragon never held the lead until the final round, with his 16-under 71-69-66-66=272 gaining momentum as the week progressed. In the final round, he circled eight birdies to two bogeys in his lap around Midland CC. His second victory comes almost a year to the day of his first win at the TPC Stonebrae Championship, and moves him to sixth place on the Tour money list. That assures him a spot in the four-tournament playoff for a 2013-2014 PGA TOUR card.

After 11 years as a professional golfer, Alex Aragon claimed his first Nationwide Tour title at the TPC Stonebrae Championship with a 10-under-par 67-70-67-66=270 that included a 4-under 32-34=66 in the final round.

Aragon held off hard-charging Matt Harmon, who shot a final-round 61, as well as Duffy Waldorf and Paul Haley II, clipping all three by one stroke. Aragon circled 17 birdies and an eagle to just nine bogeys, and was solid with the putter. He rolled the flat stick to a 1.681 putting average and averaged 27.5 putts per round, ranking him in the top five in both categories. His win came in his 41st start on the Nationwide Tour. He's also teed it up 34 times on the PGA TOUR, as he was a fully exempt member in 2006.
