Orioles designated RHP Ramon Ramirez for assignment.

Ramirez threw a scoreless inning in his lone appearance with the O's. There's a decent chance he'll clear waivers and remain in the organization.

Orioles purchased the contract of RHP Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Norfolk.

Ramirez has posted a 3.65 ERA and 19/3 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season for the Orioles and Mariners. He'll be used in middle relief with Baltimore.

Ramirez was given the boot after posting a 10.38 ERA over his first four appearances with Seattle's Triple-A affiliate. The 31-year-old reliever last appeared in six games with the Giants last year.
Apr 29 - 1:59 PM

Ramon Ramirez has yet to report to Mariners' camp due to visa issues.

It's certainly not going to help his chances at winning a bullpen spot. Ramirez was a very effective reliever from 2008-11, compiling a 2.77 ERA. However, the 32-year-old bottomed out last year, spending most of the season in the minors. This is the second straight year he's dealt with visa issues.
Feb 14 - 2:31 PM

Mariners signed RHP Ramon Ramirez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Ramirez made six appearances with the Giants last season before being designated for assignment in July. He eventually latched on with the Rays and made a handful of appearances between High-A Charlotte and Triple-A Durham. The 32-year-old has struggled in the majors over the past two seasons, but he could be in the mix for a bullpen spot in the spring.
Jan 2 - 5:22 PM

Rays released RHP Ramon Ramirez.

Ramirez has a 3.31 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42/15 K/BB ratio in 35 1/3 innings this year in the minor leagues. The right-hander should be able to find a new team.

Giants purchased the contract of RHP Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Fresno.

Ramirez has posted a 3.46 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 31/3 K/BB ratio in 26 innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level. He should do fine in the Giants' bullpen.

Giants re-signed RHP Ramon Ramirez to a minor league contract.

Ramirez was released by the Giants last week, but the two sides quickly hammered out a new agreement. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to open the season with Triple-A Fresno and could be an option to join the major league bullpen eventually.

Giants released RHP Ramon Ramirez.

It's a bit of a surprise, as Ramirez appeared likely to earn a bullpen spot after being inked to a minor league deal last month. However, he reported late to camp due to a visa issue and then posted an 11.25 ERA over eight appearances. The owner of a career 3.32 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over seven seasons, Ramirez won't be out of a job long.

Ramon Ramirez has reported to Giants' camp.

He had been dealing with a visa issue. Ramirez is in camp on a minor league invite but should have no trouble cracking the Opening Day roster.

Ramon Ramirez is expected to report late to Giants' camp due to visa issues.

Just as long as it doesn't drag on too long, it shouldn't affect his bid for an Opening Day roster spot. Ramirez held a 4.24 ERA and 52/35 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings with the Mets last season, but he enjoyed success out of the Giants' bullpen from 2010-2011.
