Giants designated RHP Ramon Ramirez for assignment.

Ramirez was called up from the minors late last month and allowed seven runs on nine hits and five walks over just 5 2/3 innings. Jake Dunning will replace him in the Giants' bullpen.
Jun 13 - 4:20 PM

Giants purchased the contract of RHP Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Fresno.

Ramirez has posted a 3.46 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 31/3 K/BB ratio in 26 innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level. He should do fine in the Giants' bullpen.
May 29 - 5:10 PM

Giants re-signed RHP Ramon Ramirez to a minor league contract.

Ramirez was released by the Giants last week, but the two sides quickly hammered out a new agreement. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to open the season with Triple-A Fresno and could be an option to join the major league bullpen eventually.

Giants released RHP Ramon Ramirez.

It's a bit of a surprise, as Ramirez appeared likely to earn a bullpen spot after being inked to a minor league deal last month. However, he reported late to camp due to a visa issue and then posted an 11.25 ERA over eight appearances. The owner of a career 3.32 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over seven seasons, Ramirez won't be out of a job long.
Mar 22 - 1:04 PM

Ramon Ramirez has reported to Giants' camp.

He had been dealing with a visa issue. Ramirez is in camp on a minor league invite but should have no trouble cracking the Opening Day roster.
Feb 17 - 10:59 AM

Ramon Ramirez is expected to report late to Giants' camp due to visa issues.

Just as long as it doesn't drag on too long, it shouldn't affect his bid for an Opening Day roster spot. Ramirez held a 4.24 ERA and 52/35 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings with the Mets last season, but he enjoyed success out of the Giants' bullpen from 2010-2011.
Feb 8 - 2:53 PM

Giants signed RHP Ramon Ramirez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Ramirez had a 4.24 ERA and 52/35 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings with the Mets last season, but he enjoyed success out of the Giants' bullpen from 2010-2011. With a solid spring, the 31-year-old right-hander should be in good position for an Opening Day roster spot.
Feb 5 - 3:11 PM

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Giants have agreed to a deal with right-hander Ramon Ramirez.

No word on the terms involved. Ramirez was dealt to the Mets last offseason along with Andres Torres in the Angel Pagan deal, but now both players are back with the Giants. The 31-year-old right-hander had a 4.24 ERA and 52/35 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings last season.

Mets activated RHP Ramon Ramirez from the 15-day disabled list.

The 30-year-old right-hander strained his right hamstring while celebrating Johan Santana's no-hitter on June 1. Ramirez was pretty shaky during his rehab stint, so it's doubtful that New York will trust him in high-leverage situations right away. Ramirez, who was acquired as part of the Angel Pagan deal this offseason, has a 3.93 ERA in 15 appearances with the Mets.

Ramon Ramirez (hamstring) was charged with three runs on four hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning on Friday in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo.

Ugly. Ramirez has been pretty shaky during his rehab stint, so the Mets will likely want to see better results before bringing him back from the disabled list. The 30-year-old right-hander strained his right hamstring while celebrating Johan Santana's no-hitter on June 1.

Ramon Ramirez (hamstring) tossed a scoreless inning Wednesday in his second minor league rehab appearance with High-A St. Lucie.

That's better. Ramirez allowed three runs on five hits over one inning in his first appearance on Monday, but he's headed in the right direction. Barring any setbacks with his hamstring, he should rejoin the Mets' bullpen within the next few days.

Ramon Ramirez (hamstring) allowed three runs on five hits in one inning of work Monday in his first minor league rehab appearance with High-A St. Lucie.

Not exactly what you want to see. The Mets probably want to see some better results before bringing him back from the disabled list, but the important part is that his hamstring injury is healed.

Ramon Ramirez (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Monday with High-A St. Lucie.

Ramirez has been sidelined since injuring his right hamstring while celebrating Johan Santana's no-hitter. He'll likely only need a couple of appearances before returning.
Mon, Jun 18, 2012 04:06:00 PM

Mets placed RHP Ramon Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 31, with a strained hamstring.

Ramirez hurt himself while jumping in the pile celebrating Johan Santana's no-hitter on Friday night. The severity of the injury isn't yet known. Miguel Batista was activated from the disabled list to replace him on the active roster.
