Mark Teahen has signed a contract with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League.
Teahen was released by the Rangers two weeks ago after batting .198/.293/.226 in 32 games at Triple-A. The 31-year-old will aim to work his way back into affiliated ball. It seems crazy at this point that he had 18 homers, 69 RBI and an .874 OPS in 2006 with Kansas City. Jun 17 - 1:04 PM

Diamondbacks released INF Mark Teahen.

Teahen asked for and was granted his release. The veteran infielder hit .211/.318/.254 with 22 strikeouts in 22 games at Triple-A Reno but should be able to latch on with a new team. The Reds tried to trade for him at the end of April, but Teahen did not pass his physical.

MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports that the Reds returned INF/OF Mark Teahen to the Diamondbacks due to an issue with his physical.

Teahen was acquired by the Reds earlier this week for cash considerations or a player to be named later, but the deal has been nixed. The exact issue with the physical isn't yet known. The 31-year-old was hitting .211/.318/.254 through his first 22 games with Triple-A Reno this season.

Diamondbacks signed OF Mark Teahen to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The 31-year-old batted just .260/.328/.360 in 500 plate appearances this past season for the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse, New York. Teahen was once a promising, young, versatile player for the Royals, but he will now struggle to reach the MLB level with Arizona.

Mark Teahen has elected free agency.

Teahen hit .260/.328/.360 with three homers and 63 RBI while spending the entire season at Triple-A Syracuse. He's unlikely to generate much interest on the free agent market and will probably have to settle for a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

Nationals reassigned INF Mark Teahen to minor league camp; optioned C Jhonatan Solano and 1B Tyler Moore to Triple-A Syracuse.

Teahen was released from the Blue Jays over the winter after batting just .200/.273/.300 with four homers and 14 RBI across 177 plate appearances in 2011. He signed a minor league pact with Washington but failed to claim a utility job. Solano is known as a solid defender and he could be summoned down the line. The 25-year-old Moore has slugged 62 homers over the past two seasons between High-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg and was recently ranked as the Nationals' No. 16 prospect by Baseball America.

Blue Jays acquired INF Mark Teahen and RHP Edwin Jackson from the White Sox for RHPs Jason Frasor and Zach Stewart.

The Blue Jays will be responsible for the roughly $7.2 million left on Teahen's contract through 2012, but that's the price Alex Anthopoulos was willing to pay to set the framework on a Colby Rasmus trade. Teahen, 29, is batting .203/.277/.305 with three homers and 11 RBI over 130 plate appearances this season. He will presumably be used in a utility role.

Mark Teahen made his third straight start for the White Sox at third base on Sunday.

All three starts were against right-handed pitchers. "Managers don't change lineups when the team is winning," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Right now, we are desperate to win as much as we can. That's the reason. I think I have the feeling right now we are on a roll, and I want to keep the guys as much as I can out there. I expect it to work out." Guillen said rookie Brent Morel has not lost his starting job and will be back in the lineup at some point during the upcoming series against the Royals. Kansas City is scheduled to throw two lefties.

Mark Teahen provided the White Sox with their only runs Thursday, belting a two-run homer off Carl Pavano.

Teahen's blast in the fifth cut the Twins' lead to 6-2, but that's what the final score ended up being. It was his third homer on the year to go along with nine RBI and a .221 batting mark. He'll continue to play sparingly in the outfield and at third base.
