Blue Jays signed OF Luke Scott to a minor league deal; assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo.
Scott hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2013. He spent part of 2014 with the SK Wyverns of the Korea Baseball Organization and opened 2015 in Mexico. We wouldn't expect him to have a big impact with the Jays. May 14 - 9:21 AM

Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Luke Scott is working out for some major league teams on Tuesday.

Scott, 36, is looking to return to the majors in 2015 after spending last season in Korea. The nine-year major league veteran hit .267/.392/.505 over 33 games for the SK Wyverns but was on the injured list three times and eventually released for being disrespectful to the coaching staff. He'll only require a minor league deal.

Luke Scott was released by the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization Wednesday after showing "disrespectful" behavior toward his coach.

Scott was on the injured list due to plantar fasciitis and was not pleased with how the team was managing the ailment, calling coach Lee Man-soon a "liar" and a "coward." The 36-year-old hit .267 with six homers in 33 games for Wyvern and was on the injured list three times. He seems likely to sit out the rest of the season before seeking a major league deal over the winter.

Luke Scott has agreed to a deal with SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization, a source tells Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

The terms of the deal weren't known. It's a bit surprising that Scott couldn't find a job with an MLB team after batting .241/.326/.415 in 253 at-bats with the Rays last season. Scott will turn 36 in June.

Rays activated DH Luke Scott from the 15-day disabled list.

The 35-year-old was hitting .249/.336/.430 with nine homers and 39 RBI in 78 games before being sidelined with back spasms. He's expected to resume his role as the Rays primary DH upon his return.

Luke Scott's evaluation of his back went well and he will likely be activated on Sunday.

The move was expected, and after a positive evaluation it's a near certainty. The 35-year-old is hitting .249/.336/.430 this year, and will likely serve as the team's primary designated hitter upon return.

Luke Scott (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Wednesday.

Scott will play in a few games for Durham before returning on September 1. He should see pretty regular at-bats in the DH spot against right-handed pitching once he's back.

Rays placed DH Luke Scott on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 15, with back spasms.

Scott is batting just .176 (3-for-17) this month, so it provides some context for his struggles. Assuming he avoids setbacks, he should be a strong candidate to return when first eligible.

Luke Scott is currently dealing with back spasms.

It's not a major concern, but it would certainly explain his lack of production of late. Wil Myers will serve as the DH again on Friday while Kelly Johnson, Sam Fuld, and Matt Joyce play the outfield.

Luke Scott (back, shoulder) finished 0-for-5 in the Rays' loss to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon.

Scott hadn't played in a couple of days due to general back and shoulder stiffness. He is batting .264/.350/.467 with nine homers and 39 RBI in 66 games this season.

Luke Scott is not in the Rays' lineup Saturday.

Scott is day-to-day with back/shoulder stiffness. Rays manager Joe Maddon said he could be available to pinch-hit Saturday against the Yankees.

Luke Scott went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Rays' 4-3 win over the Astros on Saturday.

Scott hit his eighth home run of the season in the fifth inning before his RBI single in the sixth proved to be the game-winning run. What's more, Scott hit the homer off Dallas Keuchel, his second against a left-handed pitcher this year. The designated hitter is having a good year, batting .274/.361/.478 in 59 games.

Luke Scott hit his sixth homer against the Twins in Monday's win.

No team but the Rays would give much thought to batting Scott second, but his .262/.344/.439 line doesn't look bad in that slot. He'll remain a lineup fixture against right-handers while he's hot.

Luke Scott is batting second on Monday for the Rays.

It is only his second time hitting second this season. Scott is batting .303/.346/.539 since June 6.

Luke Scott went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in the Rays' 3-1 victory over the White Sox on Sunday.

Scott sure enjoyed Chicago's visit to Florida, going 6-for-10 with three extra-base hits in the three-game sweep, raising his average from .240 to .262. Scott has picked up his production in his second season with the Rays, batting .262/.344/.439 with five homers and 30 RBI in 53 games.
