Hawksworth had a pretty nice year for the Dodgers in 2011 but missed all of 2012 due to elbow and shoulder woes. He's expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2013 season.

Hawksworth underwent surgery in late August to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his right shoulder. He will likely miss most, if not all, of the 2013 season.

The procedure was designed to correct a torn labrum and capsule in Hawksworth's throwing shoulder, and it apparently went off without a hitch. He'll need at least 12 months of recovery time, however, meaning the right-hander can probably be ruled out for the entire 2013 campaign.

Hawksworth underwent surgery in January to remove a bone spur and scar tissue from his throwing elbow, then had another procedure a few months later to clear up an infection around the surgical wound. And now he's having problems with his shoulder. The right-hander seems doubtful to pitch in the major leagues this year.

Hawksworth is currently stationed at High-A Rancho Cucamonga and is expected to remain there for a few more outings. He's unlikely to join the Dodgers before the end of June but should be back in a middle relief role by the All-Star break.

The procedure, which was designed to clean up scar tissue and a bone spur in the right-hander's throwing elbow, was deemed a success. Hawksworth will begin rehabbing on Monday and is set to resume throwing in a month. He might not be ready by the start of the regular season but shouldn't miss more than a few weeks.

Tony Jackson of ESPN Los Angeles reports that he'll need 4-6 weeks to recover. Hawksworth, who turns 29 in March, posted a 4.08 ERA and a 43/17 K/BB ratio over 53 innings with the Dodgers last season.
