Ross Ohlendorf has elected to become a free agent.

Ohlendorf had been outrighted off the Nationals' 40-man roster and has now declined an assignment to Triple-A. The 32-year-old right-hander dealt with a back injury for much of the 2014 season, but he's shown flashes of promise in the past in both a relief and starting role, so there shouldn't be a lack of offers this winter.
