According to Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston, Tom Gordon is interested in pitching again.
Gordon, now 43 years old, hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May of 2009 and sat out the entire 2010 season. He was largely ineffective in his late-30s, so we don't see any team wasting their time. Tue, Dec 7, 2010 09:20:00 PM

Diamondbacks released RHP Tom Gordon.

Gordon looked terrible during a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Reno Aces. He could latch on with another club desperate for bullpen depth, or the 41-year-old may decide to call it quits.

Tom Gordon (hamstring) has allowed 10 runs and 11 walks in 5 1/3 innings during an ongoing rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno.

Gordon will not be activated from the disabled list until he proves he can pitch effectively in the minor leagues. "As his rehab winds down, there is a performance-based side where we'd like him to throw more strikes," manager A.J. Hinch said. Flash is no longer working against a rehabilitation timetable.

Tom Gordon (hamstring) surrendered three earned runs in 1/3 inning Monday during a rehab appearance with Triple-A Reno.

Flash has walked 10 batters and allowed nine earned runs in 4 1/3 innings during his current rehab assignment. "He still needs to refine his command and show some consistency," Diamondbacks manager A.J. Hinch said Monday night. "We're confident he's going to do it."

Tom Gordon tossed a scoreless inning Friday for Triple-A Reno.

Gordon is finally about ready to rejoin the Diamondbacks. He tossed eight of his 13 pitches for strikes on Friday and could be activated as soon as Wednesday. He's thrown just 1 2/3 major league innings this year.

Tom Gordon gave up three runs on three hits and two walks in one-third of an inning Tuesday night in a rehab outing with Triple-A Reno.

Flash has allowed a total of six earned runs and eight walks in three rehab innings. Needless to say, return does not appear imminent "He scuffled with his command again," D'Backs manager A.J. Hinch said. "He said he feels fine, but his fastball command has been pretty bad. We formulated a new plan for him to get a few extra outings. We certainly want him to be sharp."

Tom Gordon (hamstring) is scheduled to throw his live second batting practice session on Friday.

Given no setbacks, Gordon is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week. He has been out since May 3 due to a strained left hamstring.

Tom Gordon (hamstring) tossed his fourth successful bullpen session Thursday.

Gordon will throw a fifth on Saturday and then begin facing live hitters. Flash told a group of reporters Thursday that he'd rather not spend time on a minor league rehab assignment, but is open to the idea if it's what the team wants. "They have done this a whole lot more than I have, as far as rehabbing players," he said. "I'm definitely not just going to say no."

Diamondbacks transferred RHP Tom Gordon to the 60-day disabled list.

The move doesn't affect much. Gordon remains a couple weeks from returning yet is still eligible for activation in early July with the transfer. He's been throwing bullpen sessions for the past week or so.

Tom Gordon (hamstring) tossed a successful bullpen session Thursday.

Flash will take two days off before trying another bullpen session on Sunday. The right-hander has battled injuries all season. He was active for one week in late April and early May, but otherwise has been stuck on the disabled list.

Tom Gordon (hamstring) is hoping to throw off a mound Thursday or Friday.

The oft-injured Gordon has only been active for about one week this season. He collapsed on a mound in May while trying to throw a bullpen session because his hamstring hurt so bad. Hopefully that won't happen this time around. Flash would make a nice addition to the Arizona bullpen if he could just get healthy.

Tom Gordon returned to playing catch Friday after his injured hamstring bothered him so much during a Friday bullpen session that he collapsed on the mound.

It's a step, but it doesn't sound as though Gordon is remotely close to returning to the D-Backs bullpen.

Tom Gordon had to shut down a recent bullpen session after feeling discomfort in his strained left hamstring.

Gordon will check with the Diamondbacks' medical staff to come up with a game plan, but he's not close to returning from the disabled list.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Tom Gordon on the 15-Day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

The oft-injured Gordon is back to his regular locale: the DL. At least it's with a hamstring injury and not an arm injury. He will be out a few weeks at least.

Tom Gordon was carried off the field with an apparent leg injury in Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Gordon appeared to injure his left hamstring while covering home following a wild pitch in the sixth inning of the game. It sounds like he's DL bound again.
