Konerko is healthy, but he has sat out the last two games. The hope is that the extra rest will get him going with the bat. The 37-year-old first baseman is hitting just .214 with four homers and a .623 OPS through 33 games.

Konerko is batting just .172 with one homer and five RBI in his last 16 games, so it's a good time to get him a breather. Adam Dunn is at first base against the Twins, while Dayan Viciedo is in the DH spot and Casper Wells is in left field.

Paul Konerko went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Monday's 10-inning win over the Royals.

The 0-fer drops Konerko to .225/.279/.378 on the season. He's gone deep just once in his past 16 games. The slow start is in direct contrast to Konerko's 2012, where he took a .351/.432/.629 slash into play on May 6. The 13-17 White Sox badly need their 37-year-old first baseman to get going.

Konerko is believed to be fine. Still, his average is back down to .232 now, as he's gone 3-for-18 with no RBI in his last five games.

Paul Konerko went 2-for-3 with a home run as the White Sox beat the Blue Jays 4-3 on Tuesday.

Konerko has gotten off to a bit of a slow start this season, hitting just .250 after Tuesday's game. The aging first baseman scored three runs in the Chicago victory, and his home run was the third of the season. He's still in a prime RBI position in the White Sox lineup, so the numbers will be there in time.

Paul Konerko had a nice night at the plate on Friday, going 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBI as the White Sox and Athletics played to a 4-4 tie.

The 37-year-old veteran is showing no signs of slowing down, hitting .385/.429/.712 with five homers and 12 RBI this spring. As long as he remains healthy, he looks like a tremendous value in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Konerko, 37, just keeps on rolling. The veteran first baseman finished the day 1-for-3 and is now batting .357 in 10 Cactus League games. He should again be a reliable fantasy option during the 2013 regular season.

Paul Konerko hit his fourth home run of the Cactus League -- a three-run shot -- in Saturday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The 37-year-old first baseman continues to age gracefully. Konerko hit .298/.371/.486 last season while playing in 144 games. A model of consistency, Konerko isn't going to go off the board early, but he shouldn't be forgotten in the middle rounds of your mixed league draft.

The veteran first baseman has now gone deep three times in his first seven Cactus League games. It's a good sign after Konerko underwent another operation on his left wrist over the offseason.

Konerko's blast came off of lefty Robbie Ross in the fifth inning. The veteran first baseman had another operation on his left wrist over the offseason, so it's good to see him showing some pop early on in camp. He's picked up three hits in his first seven at-bats.

Paul Konerko reiterated Sunday that he's still unsure whether he'll retire after the 2013 season.

Konerko admitted that last year was difficult from an injury standpoint, but hasn't ruled out playing beyond his contract with the White Sox. "Setting a finish line, I'm not a big believer in that, because you always have a tendency to let up," the soon-to-be 37-year-old said. "It’s something that will be talked about after the season, regardless of how it goes. I’ll address it when the time comes."

Paul Konerko said Friday that he's unsure whether he'll retire after the 2013 season.

Konerko mentioned when he signed a three-year deal in December of 2010 that he was prepared to retire at the conclusion of the contract. Of course, he probably didn't imagine remaining as productive as he's been, sporting a .304/.384/.530 batting line while averaging 32 homers over the last three seasons. He'll turn 37 in March, but it's hard to imagine him hanging it up if he has another nice year in 2013.
