According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, the Marlins have no interest in re-signing free agent Carlos Lee.
With Logan Morrison (knee) questionable for Opening Day, the Marlins currently lack depth at first base, but have all but ruled out bringing back Lee. If Morrison isn't ready for the start of the season, Greg Dobbs or Joe Mahoney would likely be considered for an expanded role. Carlos Lee delivered a walk-off RBI single off Josh Lindblom in the ninth inning on Friday, propelling the Marlins to a 2-1 victory over the Phillies.

Lee finished the night 1-for-4, but that one was the critical knock in the ball game. The 36-year-old slugger is clearly on the downside of his career, but has still been a fairly productive player this season, slashing .265/.329/.370 with nine homers and 75 RBI.

Carlos Lee blasted a two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Marlins to a 6-4 victory over the Reds.

He finished the night 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. Lee’s homer came off Johnny Cueto in the fifth inning, increasing the Marlins’ lead to 6-2 at the time. He also added a sacrifice fly earlier on the night. The power numbers aren’t quite what we’ve come to expect from Lee, but he’s still having a fairly solid season, hitting .276/.340/.386 with nine homers, 72 RBI and three stolen bases.

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said he expects Carlos Lee (neck) to play Saturday.

Lee went 1-for-3 with an RBI single before leaving Friday's game with a neck strain. It's not a major concern.

Carlos Lee went 3-for-4 and drove home a run but the Marlins fell to the Mets on Saturday.

All three of Lee’s hits were singles, including a clutch RBI knock off Ramon Ramirez in the eighth inning to increase the Marlins lead to 3-1. The power numbers are certainly lacking from his career norms, but Lee is still having a decent season, hitting .279/.346/.387 with eight homers and 63 RBI.

According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, Carlos Lee continues to draw trade interest from teams that need a right-handed bat.

Lee was reportedly placed on waivers earlier this month. We're assuming he cleared, which means he could be traded to any team. Of course, he has 14 teams on his no-trade list and blocked a trade to the Dodgers earlier this year, so he's no lock to be moved. The 36-year-old is batting .278/.346/.388 with eight home runs, 62 RBI and a .733 OPS over 116 games this season.

Carlos Lee finished 2-for-3 with a solo home run on Thursday night in the Marlins' loss to the Rockies.

Lee opened the game's scoring with his second-inning solo shot, then singled in the eighth. He also drew a walk in the fourth and came around to score on a wild pitch. The 36-year-old has seven total homers and 55 total RBI in 104 games this season.

Carlos Lee told Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald that he is interested in returning to the Marlins next season.

"I like this team," said Lee, who was acquired from the Astros in July. "I don’t know what their plans are, but I like it here." Spencer was told by a team source that Lee's agent has spoken with the team about returning, but it's not known if the interest is mutual. It's unlikely Lee is in the team's long-term plans, as they already tried to trade him before the deadline and are better off with Logan Morrison at first base as opposed to left field.

Carlos Lee delivered a clutch two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning, leading the Marlins 5-2 victory in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader.

Lee finished the night 1-for-4, and also added a third RBI on a groundout in the eighth inning. He continues to produce on a nightly basis in the middle of the lineup, and should continue to draw trade interest should the Marlins be able to work out a waiver deal for the veteran slugger.

Carlos Lee went 2-for-3 and drove home the Marlins lone run in Thursday’s loss to the Braves.

While Lee has already been traded once this season, and could very easily be moved again in a waiver deal, he’s quietly having a fairly productive season. He’s now hitting .290 with six homers and 43 RBI, including an even .300 average in 24 games with the Marlins.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Marlins have placed Carlos Lee on waivers.

It was fully expected, and he'll go unclaimed. There's probably a decent chance Lee will get dealt this month, as the Marlins don't want him anymore and he could help a contender in a bit role. The biggest obstacle may be whether he's willing to waive his no-trade rights.

Carlos Lee went 2-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and walk in Wednesday's win over the Braves.

Lee has reached base at least twice in five of his past six games. The RBI was his 13th in 23 games as a Marlin, while he's now hitting .287/.351/.397. Despite the continued evaporation of El Caballo's power, he's unlikely to pass through unclaimed if he's placed on waivers.

According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, first baseman Carlos Lee rejected a deadline trade to the Yankees.

So the Bombers got Casey McGehee from the Pirates instead. Lee probably would have been a better option for the New York bench, but he has a no-trade clause and would not waive it. The Marlins acquired the 36-year-old earlier this month from the Astros.

The Marlins intend to place Carlos Lee on waivers if they are unable to trade him by Tuesday's deadline.

Miami will try desperately to move Lee in the next few hours before that happens. Acquired by the Marlins earlier this month, Lee has hit .271/.388/.343 with a homer and 12 RBI over 21 games in South Beach. He'll be a free agent after the season.

According to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports, the Marlins are trying to unload Carlos Lee.

Lee was acquired by the Marlins earlier this month, and has hit .271/.388/.343 with a homer and 12 RBI in his 21 games with the Marlins. Lee is on the last year of a six-year contract, and the Marlins will look to get something for him before he walks after the season.
