Adam Kennedy's agent, Tim Trafficanda, told MLB Trade Rumors that he is having discussions with three or four teams about his client.
Kennedy, who turns 37 on Thursday, batted .262/.345/.357 with two homers and a .702 OPS in 201 plate appearances with the Dodgers last season. While he got a guaranteed major league deal last offseason, he's far from a lock to get one this winter. Jan 7 - 5:01 PM

Adam Kennedy could miss the rest of the season due to a strained right groin.

Kennedy aggravated his groin injury during Friday's game. He'll undergo an MRI Monday to determine the extent of the damage, but Dodgers trainer Sue Falsone said the groin is "pretty significantly" strained.

Adam Kennedy (groin) went hitless in his fourth rehab appearance Sunday for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Dodgers placed INF Adam Kennedy on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin.

Kennedy suffered the injury during Tuesday's game while taking a swing but actually finished the at-bat and wound up singling. He also dealt with a right groin strain during spring training, as well. It's not clear how long he'll be out.

Adam Kennedy hit his first homer of 2012 off Arizona's Josh Collmenter on Friday.

Kennedy's homer came in his 119th at-bat. He hit seven in 380 at-bats for the Nationals last season, but that was above the norm for him. Ideally, the Dodgers would have a better option to start at third base against righties. Ideally, they wouldn't have spent $20 million on Juan Uribe.

Adam Kennedy went 4-for-4 with a double and a walk Friday in the Dodgers' 6-5 win over the Cardinals.

So apparently Kennedy belonged in the fifth spot in the Dodgers' lineup all along. His perfect night tonight raised his average all of the way from .186 to .255. Expect to find him hitting fifth again Saturday against Jake Westbrook.

Adam Kennedy will bat fifth on Thursday night against the Padres.

Yes, the same Adam Kennedy who is hitting .179 (7-for-39) this year and has a lowly .637 OPS dating back to the start of the 2010 season. That's life without Matt Kemp (hamstring) for you. OBP machine A.J. Ellis, who batted fifth on Monday and Tuesday, is back in the starting lineup Thursday in the No. 7 spot.

Adam Kennedy (groin) is scheduled to serve as the designated hitter in a minor league game Saturday.

Kennedy hasn't played since suffering a right groin strain during Sunday's game. If all goes well on Saturday, he could return to the Cactus League lineup as soon as Sunday. The 36-year-old signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Dodgers this offseason after batting .234/.277/.355 with seven homers and 38 RBI last season with the Mariners. He is expected to serve as a utility infielder this season.

Adam Kennedy (groin) resumed hitting on Tuesday, but isn't yet ready to run.

Kennedy hasn't played since suffering a right groin strain during Sunday's game. Assuming he gets back up to speed over the next couple of days, the 36-year-old open the season on the Dodgers' bench.

Adam Kennedy suffered a slight groin pull during Sunday's Cactus League game against the Brewers.

The Dodgers don't seem all that concerned about the injury lingering into the regular season. Kennedy signed a one-year, $800,000 contract this winter and is expected to have a spot on the Los Angeles bench this season.

Dodgers signed INF Adam Kennedy to a one-year, $800,000 contract.

The deal, which was agreed upon Wednesday morning, also carries another $150,000 in performance-based incentives. Kennedy hit just .234/.277/.355 this year for the Mariners, but he can play all around the infield and will function as a utilityman for the Dodgers in 2012.

According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, "for all practical purposes" the Dodgers and Adam Kennedy have agreed to a contract.

Assuming he passes a physical, the contract is believed to be worth around $800,000. Kennedy, who turns 36 in January, batted just .234/.277/.355 with seven homers, 38 RBI and a .632 OPS across 409 plate appearances this season for the Mariners. He is expected to serve as a utility infielder with the Dodgers in 2012.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Dodgers are "closing in" on a major-league deal with veteran infielder Adam Kennedy.

We knew that the two sides were close to an agreement, but Rosenthal is the first to confirm that they are discussing a major-league deal. Kennedy, who turns 36 in January, batted just .234/.277/.355 with seven homers, 38 RBI and a .632 OPS across 409 plate appearances this season for the Mariners. If signed, he'll serve as a backup at second base and the hot corner.
