Rockies released C Chad Moeller.
Moeller, 36, asked for his release after he came to the conclusion that he had little shot of making the team. The veteran had three hits in 14 at-bats last season with the Yankees. He hasn't had more than 100 at-bats at the major league level since 2005. Fri, Mar 11, 2011 07:13:00 PM

The Orioles won't know until Wednesday if Chad Moeller has cleared waivers.

Because the transaction was made before MLB's offices closed on Friday, the O's will have to wait, with bated breath, no doubt, to learn his fate. If he clears, he's expected to land with Triple-A Norfolk.
