John Parrish was forced to leave a minor league rehab appearance on Sunday after feeling discomfort in his left shoulder.

"The same symptoms came back," said Parrish, who returned to Kansas City on Tuesday for further evaluation. "We’re going to see if we can do something a little different to make it feel better." Parrish said he will rehab the shoulder over the next 7-10 days before attempting to throw again. The southpaw has been sidelined since April 29 due to left rotator cuff inflammation.

John Parrish is scheduled to test his sore left shoulder Tuesday with a bullpen session.

The bullpener will be his first and will mark a significant step in his ongoing recovery from rotator cuff inflammation if it is completed successfully. Parrish opened the season with six straight scoreless appearances and left behind a 3.00 ERA over nine total relief outings.

John Parrish (shoulder) is not ready to return from the disabled list.

He won't return from the DL at the minimum, but the good news is that the inflammation in his rotator cuff has improved. He's currently free and easy in his throwing program, but there's no timetable for his return.

Royals placed LHP John Parrish on the 15-day disabled list with left rotator cuff inflammation.

Parrish missed the entire 2009 season after shoulder surgery, so this isn't a good sign. The 32-year-old southpaw posted a 3.00 ERA over his first nine appearances this season.

John Parrish hasn't pitched since Saturday because of a sore shoulder.

"It's a concern to the point that it's been sore for a few days," said Royals manager Trey Hillman. "We'll see what the next few days brings." Parrish, 32, has a 3.00 ERA over his first nine appearances this season. He earned a spot on the Opening Day roster after signing a minor league contract in January.

According to MASN, John Parrish is likely to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to determine the cause of his soreness.

Orioles signed LHP John Parrish to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Parrish chose the Orioles over the Tigers after pitching in Baltimore from 2000-2007. He's started in just 16 of 174 career appearances, but Parrish will reportedly be given a chance to compete for a rotation spot and has the right to opt out of the contract if he's not on the 25-man roster by April 3.

The Detroit Free Press reports that John Parrish will sign a minor league contract with the Orioles "within the next several days."

Parrish drew interest from the Tigers as well, but chose to return to the Orioles after coming up through Baltimore's system and playing there from 2000-2007. He has a 4.54 ERA in 271 2/3 career innings and has logged more than 50 innings in a season just twice.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Tigers are interested in John Parrish.

The newspaper speculates that Parrish is a fallback option for Joe Beimel, who was previously said to be the Tigers' top choice among left-handed relievers. Parrish has a 4.54 career ERA, including a 4.04 mark and 21/15 K/BB ratio in 42 1/3 innings split between the Blue Jays' bullpen and rotation last season. He's a marginal middle reliever.

John Parrish pitched five innings of two-run ball against the Orioles on Saturday.

Parrish was making his first start in a month. He ended up going 1-1 with a 4.04 ERA in six starts and seven relief appearances for the Jays. His command has improved enough that he could remain an adequate middle reliever/spot starter going forward. If the Blue Jays choose to bring him back, it could be taken as another sign that they intend to move Scott Downs into the rotation.
