Albert Pujols hit a three-run home run, helping the Angels escape with a win against the Tigers on Tuesday.

Pujols gave the Angels an early 3-0 cushion, drilling a three-run home run to left field off of Alfredo Simon. He finished 1-for-4 with a walk on the evening. Aside from a handful of home runs, the veteran has had a tough time at the plate, batting only .200 (8-for-40) since August 13. He's tied for third in the majors, along with Mike Trout and Josh Donaldson, having gone deep 33 times. That leaves him three behind leader Nelson Cruz.
