Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, helping the Angels edge the Yankees on Tuesday.
Pujols tied the game at 1-1 when he ripped a solo home run to straightaway center field off of Ivan Nova. He has 24 on the season and seems like a good bet to cross the 40-homer threshold by season's end, which would be the first time he will have done that since 2010. Pujols has also knocked in 49 runs while batting .265/.332/.558. Jul 1 - 12:49 AM

Albert Pujols blasted another pair of home runs, powering the Angels past the Astros on Monday in a 2-for-3 effort.

Pujols' first homer, a two-run shot off of Brett Oberholtzer, gave the Angels a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning. He homered again in the seventh to make it 3-1. The veteran has had a torrid June, now having drilled 12 homers in 20 games. He has a league-leading total of 23 on the season along with 47 RBI and a .275/.336/.581 triple-slash line.
Jun 23 - 1:34 AM

Albert Pujols hit a go-ahead grand slam in a 12-7 win over the Athletics on Friday night.

It was part of an eight-run seventh inning for the Angels. Pujols leads the American League with 20 homers, which includes 12 over his last 21 games.
Jun 20 - 2:28 PM

Albert Pujols slugged a two-run home run and walked in four plate appearances as the Angels topped the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Pujols turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead when he took Jeremy Hellickson yard in the sixth inning. Now with 19 home runs, eight of which have come in June, Pujols is the current American League leader. He's also batting .273/.326/.550 with 36 RBI.
Jun 17 - 12:52 AM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the A's.

Pujols scored Erick Aybar with a single off Sonny Gray in the fourth inning. It would be the only run the Angels scored in the game. The former all-universe star is absolutely melting the cover off the ball this month. He's slashing .378/.417/.889 with seven homers and 11 RBI in June.
Jun 14 - 7:08 PM

Albert Pujols slugged his 18th homer to lead the Angels to a 1-0 win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Pujols isn't the .330-hitting, on-base machine he once was, but maybe he does have one more 40-homer season in him at age 35. He's on pace for 47 right now. His career high is 49, established in just 143 games in 2006.
Jun 14 - 12:59 AM

Albert Pujols moved past Mickey Mantle on the all-time list by hitting his 537th homer Thursday.

Pujols is now in 16th place on the all-time list. Next up is Mike Schmidt at 548.
Jun 11 - 10:43 PM

Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's win over the Rays, clubbing his 536th career home run to tie him with Mickey Mantle for 16th place on the all-time home run leaderboard.

It was quite a productive night for Pujols as he finished a triple shy of the cycle and scored three runs. He tied Mantle in the fifth inning, drilling a solo home run to the opposite field off of Nathan Karns. Mike Schmidt is Pujols' next target at 548. Given continued good health, Pujols should be able to get there this summer. He has five home runs in seven June games, giving him 16 on the season along with 30 RBI, 32 runs scored, and a .268/.317/.531 batting line.
Jun 9 - 10:27 PM

Albert Pujols singled and belted a solo homer in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Pujols followed Mike Trout's solo shot in the first inning with a blast of his own to give the Angels an early lead. Unfortunately for the Halos, they were outscored 6-0 the rest of the way. Pujols is now up to 15 longballs for the season after slugging eight in his last 11 games. He's on pace to go deep 43 times.
Jun 7 - 3:39 PM

Albert Pujols hit his 534th career home run, tying him with Jimmie Foxx for 17th all-time, but the Angels lost to the Rays on Tuesday.

Pujols finished 1-for-4. His solo home run in the fourth inning off of Chris Archer accounted for the Angels' only run of the evening. Pujols' next target after Foxx is Mickey Mantle at 536, then Mike Schmidt at 548. The veteran has 14 home runs total on the year with 27 RBI and a .254/.303/.508 batting line.
Jun 3 - 12:46 AM

Albert Pujols crushed a pair of home runs, going 3-for-5 as the Angels topped the Rays on Monday.

Pujols gave the Angels plenty of insurance with his homers. His first, in the fifth inning, extended the lead to 5-3. His second, in the eighth inning, made it 7-3. Pujols -- now with five home runs in his last five games -- has 533 round-trippers in his career, leaving him one short of tying Jimmie Foxx for 17th on the all-time leaderboard. Pujols also has 13 homers on the season along with 26 RBI and a .254/.304/.497 triple-slash line.
Jun 2 - 1:10 AM

Albert Pujols injured his groin in Friday's win against the Tigers.

That prompted the Angels to call up Efren Navarro from Triple-A Salt Lake. Pujols will DH Saturday with Navarro getting the start at first base. Despite his low average (.250), Pujols is still a decent source of power for fantasy owners. He's tied for 11th in the American League with ten home runs this season.
May 30 - 8:07 PM

Albert Pujols finished 3-for-4 with a homer against the Tigers on Friday.

Homers in back-to-back games have given Pujols 10 for the year. Incredibly, he still has just 20 RBI, even though he's been hitting behind Mike Trout all season. One imagines he'll come around there, though.
May 30 - 1:33 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer, two walks and two runs scored in a 12-2 victory against the Tigers on Thursday.

Pujols has nine homers -- putting him on a 30-pace clip -- but he isn't doing much else. He has only 19 RBI and has a rough .238/.294/.436 slash line. On a positive note, he's hit safely in six of seven and has four extra-base hits in that stretch.
May 29 - 1:45 AM

Albert Pujols hit a broken-bat RBI single to help the Angels walk off winners in the bottom of the ninth against the Padres on Monday.

Padres closer Craig Kimbrel was trying to clean up Kevin Quackenbush's mess and walked Mike Trout to load the bases with two outs to face Pujols. Pujols broke his bat, but was strong enough to drive a grounder into left field for the walk-off hit. He finished 1-for-5 on the night. The veteran first baseman is batting a mediocre .228/.280/.420 with eight home runs and 17 RBI.
