Sep 27 - 6:17 PM

Albert Pujols finished 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored Friday versus the Astros.

Pujols now has five multi-hit games in his last nine. He has improved his batting average from .261 to .269 in the process. The 36-year-old might not be the offensive force he once was, but fantasy owners aren’t going to complain about 31 homers and 116 RBI.
Sep 24 - 12:06 AM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Astros.

Pujols connected for a two-run shot with one out in the first inning, burning Mike Fiers for the only runs in the 2-0 win. The veteran slugger is no longer a triple-slash monster with his .265/.320/.456 mark, but his counting stats have been fantastic. In 577 at-bats, Pujols has clocked 31 homers and driven in 116 runs. Those 116 RBI are the most he has picked up in a season since he drove in 118 in 2010.

Pujols and teammate C.J. Cron went back-to-back off Hisashi Iwakuma in the first inning. He added a pair of singles, finishing the day 3-for-4 to raise his season slash to .268/.326/.467 to go along with 29 long balls and 108 RBI.

Pujols has been battling a painful foot injury that has caused him to miss some games but hasn't affected his production at the plate. The 36-year-old is batting .264 with 28 home runs and 106 RBI.

Albert Pujols said Friday that he plans to keep playing through his bout of plantar fasciitis.

Sep 2 - 8:52 PM

Albert Pujols is out of the Angels' lineup Wednesday due to a flareup of plantar fasciitis.

Pujols has dealt with plantar fasciitis in his left foot off and on since his peak years with the Cardinals, but this bout is actually in his right foot. Not good. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said there is no talk of shutting Pujols down, but the veteran slugger is probably going to need regular days off down the stretch. Kole Calhoun is at DH and batting second on Wednesday night against Reds left-hander Brandon Finnegan.
Aug 31 - 6:01 PM

Albert Pujols clubbed his 25th home run of the season in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday.

Aug 26 - 10:14 PM

He combined with Mike Trout for back-to-back jacks in the first inning. He drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning, then drove in Trout with a double in the eighth. The 36-year-old is no longer an elite hitter, but he can still help his fantasy owners win. He has a .257 batting average with 24 homers and 99 RBI.

Aug 21 - 1:35 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Thursday's win over the Mariners.

The Angels entered the eighth inning holding a slim 3-2 advantage, but they would score three runs in the frame for a little breathing room. Two of those three would come home on Pujols' 14th double of the season. The veteran slugger can no longer muster the same daunting triple-slashes of his youth (.249/.316/.425 for the season as a whole), but still offers strong counting production with his 22 homers and 95 RBI.
