Albert Pujols was hitless in four at-bats in Friday's loss against the Royals.

Pujols continues to have a difficult June, collecting just nine hits over 57 at-bats (.158) across 15 games in the month of June. The highlight of his month was when he connected for a grand slam for career homer No. 600, but it has been all downhill since.

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Thursday's loss to the Royals.

Pujols came up with an RBI single against Matt Strahm in the first inning, but otherwise was unable to do anything with the bat in this one. The veteran slugger has seen his average fall off the table with a tough June and is now hitting a mere .236/.285/.352 on the season. That he has 10 home runs and 46 RBI despite that ponderous triple-slash is one of the more quietly dichotomous statistical oddities in all of baseball.
Jun 16 - 1:22 AM

Albert Pujols was hitless in five at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Tuesday's win against the Yankees.

Pujols has collected just six hits in 44 at-bats (.136) across 12 games in the month of June, dropping his average from .254 to .232. He is really struggling this season, posting a dismal .289 on-base percentage. In addition, he has a -0.6 WAR, negative in the category for the first in his career.
Jun 14 - 4:11 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Astros.

Pujols got his damage out of the way early, connecting for a solo home run off David Paulino in the first inning. This was his first homer since he launched a grand slam for No. 600 against the Twins on June 3 and also his first extra-base hit since that historic crack of the bat. The veteran slugger is hitting .240/.289/.397 with 10 homers and 45 RBI in 58 games played.
Jun 11 - 7:35 PM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

He was the only member of the starting lineup to get a hit. The only other base knock the Angels got was a pinch-hit single by Luis Valbuena. Pujols' pedestrian .241/.291/.388 slash line is not pretty but at least he has chipped in nine homers and 44 RBI. The 37-year-old future Hall of Famer will probably get hot at some point this summer.
Jun 10 - 9:56 PM

Albert Pujols is absent from the Angels' lineup Sunday.

We suppose he's earned a break after cranking career home run No. 600 on Saturday. The Halos have Luis Valbuena in the designated hitter spot and C.J. Cron at first base.
Jun 4 - 1:14 PM

Albert Pujols became the ninth player in Major League Baseball history to hit 600 home runs with his grand slam in Saturday's game against the Twins.

Pujols is the first player to get his 600th homer with a grand slam, and he is the fourth youngest to accomplish the feat. Only he, Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds have collected 600 home runs and 600 doubles in their career. Congrats to Pujols on the historic feat on a truly great day in MLB.
Jun 4 - 12:04 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

Pujols is sitting on 599 career home runs after hitting a three-run blast on Tuesday. In Thursday's contest, he finished with a solid single but no such luck on the historic long ball. The veteran slugger is hitting .254/.302/.406 with eight homers and 38 RBI for the season as a whole. His counting stats remain rock-solid even if his batting line is no longer the soaring operatic beauty that he consistently churned out during his prime.
Jun 2 - 1:34 AM

Albert Pujols finished 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's game against the Braves.

The homer was the 599th of Pujols' career and he now has collected 2,873 hits to match Hall of Famer Babe Ruth on the all-time list. As Pujols inches closer to the milestone he appears to be more locked in rather than distracted, as he has homers in back-to-back games, and three of his past five outings.
May 31 - 1:30 AM

Albert Pujols hit a solo homer Monday in a losing cause against the Braves.

Pujols isn't a great hitter any longer, but he's had great RBI numbers hitting behind Mike Trout. That ends now, for the next six weeks at least. He might not be of any use in mixed leagues while Trout is out.
May 30 - 12:43 AM

Albert Pujols is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

Pujols was in the lineup at first base the last two days with the designated hitter spot not available in Miami, but he's battled some hamstring tightness lately so it's not a bad idea to give him a little rest. Jefry Marte is at first base Sunday.
May 28 - 10:31 AM

Albert Pujols (hamstring) is back in the Angels' lineup Friday.

Pujols has dealt with a tight hamstring lately so there was a question of whether he'd be ready to play Friday with the designated hitter spot not available in Miami. He's at first base, though, and batting fourth.
May 26 - 3:56 PM

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Thursday of Albert Pujols (hamstring) that the club will "wait and see where he is" before determining his status for this weekend.

The Halos won't have the designated hitter spot available this weekend in Miami, so Pujols will have to be used at first base if he plays. He's dealt with a hamstring injury for a little over a week and still isn't at 100 percent, although he played Monday through Wednesday and homered in his last game. Pujols seems like a good bet to start at least a couple games this weekend.
May 26 - 11:20 AM

Albert Pujols is getting the day off Thursday afternoon against the Rays.

Pujols launched career home run No. 597 on Wednesday night, but he'll rest his legs in the Angels' series finale at Tropicana Field. Mike Trout will take a turn at DH and bat second with Cameron Maybin leading off and starting in center field.
