Albert Pujols collected three singles with a run scored and two RBI in Friday's game in Seattle.

Pujols snapped a 3-for-34 skid with the three-hit performance. It's been all of nothing lately for Pujols, as he has four three-hit games since June 22, but he also has 10 hitless outings during the stretch. He is hitting just .209 with a home run and seven RBI in 10 games in August.
Aug 12 - 3:31 AM

Albert Pujols is not in the Angels' lineup Wednesday.

Pujols was ejected from Tuesday's game for arguing a check-swing call and is now getting a breather with it being a day game after a night game. Cameron Maybin is also sitting out, as the Halos have Mike Trout in the designated hitter spot, Ben Revere in center field and Cesar Puello in left.
Aug 9 - 1:33 PM

Albert Pujols was ejected from Tuesday night's game against the Orioles for arguing a check-swing call in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia also got tossed. Pujols finished 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game. He's batting just .227/.270/.376 this season.
Aug 8 - 11:57 PM

Albert Pujols went hitless for the fourth time in five games Monday, dropping his average to .228.

Pujols went 6-for-9 with three homers in a two-game stretch last week, but he's just 2-for-26 with no RBI or walks since and his OPS is back down to .651. If the Angels had anyone else worth playing, it'd probably be time for them to consider making a switch. They're options are lacking, though.
Aug 8 - 12:59 AM

Albert Pujols finished 3-for-4 with a double, three-run home run and a season-high five RBI in Tuesday's game against Philadelphia.

Pujols is up to 608 homers, one behind Sammy Sosa for eighth place in baseball history. It was also his 23rd career five-RBI game, tying him with Barry Bonds and Cecil Fielder. After struggling in last week's road trip he has rolled up six hits, three homers and nine RBI over the past two outings.
Aug 2 - 3:04 AM

Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in the Angels' loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Pujols did his part with a two-run shot in the top of the first inning, an RBI single in the top of the third, and a solo blast in the top of the sixth. The veteran slugger entered the game in a deep offensive rut and he's still slashing just .223/.280/.385 for the year, though his RBI total (63) has kept him relatively useful for fantasy purposes.
Jul 30 - 5:18 PM

Albert Pujols went 0-for-4 at the plate Thursday in Cleveland, dropping his season line to .233/.280/.374.

Pujols went 0-for-15 at the dish in the series as the Indians swept the Angels. The future Hall of Famer's walk rate has been going in the wrong direction for years now and this season he hasn't produced much power to make up for it with a pedestrian 14 homers. The good news is he still remains a fixture in the No. 3 spot in the lineup behind Mike Trout, which means he's still on a 93-RBI pace even in a poor hitting campaign.
Jul 27 - 3:06 PM

Albert Pujols is absent from the Angels' lineup Sunday.

It's a regular day of rest. Yunel Escobar is in the designated hitter spot, Luis Valbuena is at third base and C.J. Cron is at first.
Jul 23 - 1:05 PM

Albert Pujols finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's victory against the Angels.

Pujols carries a .243 average into Sunday's series finale. That's not terribly impressive, but it is his highest mark since early June. He'll work against Rick Porcello in Sunday's game. Pujols is 9-for-26 (.346) with three doubles, a home run and three RBI with a .923 OPS in his career against the 2016 American League Cy Young Award winner.
Jul 23 - 4:41 AM

Albert Pujols launched his 13th home run of the season Sunday in the Angels' win over the Rangers.

It was a solo shot in the top of the first inning off Rangers starter Yu Darvish. Pujols also drew two walks in the game, finishing 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. He is the ninth player in baseball history to reach 604 career home runs.
Jul 9 - 6:27 PM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

Pujols drove in the Angels' first run of the game with an RBI fielder's choice in the fourth inning. He also picked up the team's only extra-base hit with his double off Kershaw -- two-bagger No. 9 on the season for the veteran slugger. For the season as a whole, he is hitting .236/.279/.377 with 11 homers and 52 RBI in 297 at-bats.
Jun 30 - 1:23 AM

Albert Pujols finished 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Saturday's victory against the Royals.

Pujols moved past Mel Ott into 10th place on the all-time RBI list with 1,865. He has posted six hits over his past 17 at-bats (.353) over the past four games to bump his average from .232 to .240 since June 13.
Jun 18 - 1:06 AM

Albert Pujols was hitless in four at-bats in Friday's loss against the Royals.

Pujols continues to have a difficult June, collecting just nine hits over 57 at-bats (.158) across 15 games in the month of June. The highlight of his month was when he connected for a grand slam for career homer No. 600, but it has been all downhill since.
Jun 17 - 4:11 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Thursday's loss to the Royals.

Pujols came up with an RBI single against Matt Strahm in the first inning, but otherwise was unable to do anything with the bat in this one. The veteran slugger has seen his average fall off the table with a tough June and is now hitting a mere .236/.285/.352 on the season. That he has 10 home runs and 46 RBI despite that ponderous triple-slash is one of the more quietly dichotomous statistical oddities in all of baseball.
