Albert Pujols finished 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's road loss against the Athletics.
Pujols has been OK in the month of June, going 13-for-53 (.245) with four homers and 11 RBI in 13 contests. The batting average can use a little work, but the uptick in power and run production lately has been nice. Pujols will never be the feared hitter he was in his days with the St. Louis Cardinals, but he is still a reliable fantasy contributor for his occasional power. Jun 17 - 8:58 PM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Twins.

His blast off starter Kyle Gibson tied him with Stan Musial for seventh on the career RBI list with 1951. Next up is Lou Gehrig with 1995 and Barry Bonds with 1996. For the season, the 38-year-old first baseman has a .252 batting average with nine home runs and 33 RBI. He is also seventh all-time in home runs with 623.
Jun 9 - 9:47 PM

Albert Pujols (knee) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his return to the Angels' lineup on Friday.

The veteran slugger missed Tuesday and Wednesday's contests due to knee soreness. A shell of his former self, the 38-year-old is hitting just .248/.284/.396 with eight homers and 32 RBI through his first 57 games this season.
Jun 9 - 8:20 AM

Albert Pujols is expected to return to the Angels lineup on Friday.

The plan all along was for Pujols to miss Tuesday and Wednesday's game as he deals with knee soreness, and then he'll get a regular day of rest with the Angels having a a day off before taking on the Royals on Friday. Over 56 games, Pujols owns a .691 OPS with eight homers and 32 RBI.
Jun 6 - 8:24 PM

Albert Pujols is dealing with knee soreness and will be out of the Angels' lineup until at least Friday.

The injury isn't considered serious, so instead of placing him on the disabled list they'll let him have Tuesday and Wednesday off, and then the Angels have a night off on Thursday before they begin their series with the Twins on Friday. If the soreness doesn't subside there is of course a chance Pujols could head to the 10-day disabled list, but that doesn't appear likely for now.
Jun 5 - 9:00 PM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 and hit a two-run homer off the Rangers' Bartolo Colon on Friday.

Even though both Pujols and Colon have been around forever, they were mostly in different leagues, so they had just 25 plate appearances against one another coming into the night. Pujols is now 10-for-27 with four homers against Colon.
Jun 2 - 1:24 AM

Albert Pujols drove in his first run in 10 games with an RBI single Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Pujols' base knock in the fourth inning plated Mike Trout to get the Angels on the board. It was the first run that he's driven in since May 9, although he still has a respectable 22 RBI on the season. Pujols is hitting just .234 with one home run over his last 20 games.
May 22 - 9:45 PM

Albert Pujols went 0-for-4 on Friday and has gone eight straight games without an RBI.

Pujols is hitting .246 with just seven walks (two intentional) in 180 plate appearances, so if he's not driving in runs, he's useless. 21 RBI in 42 games isn't a very good clip for someone hitting cleanup behind Mike Trout and Justin Upton.
May 19 - 1:43 AM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles as the Angels were shut out by Justin Verlander and the Astros on Wednesday night.

As a team, the Angels logged just five hits, four of them singles. Pujols is no longer the power threat that he once was, and has seemingly forgotten how to draw walks as well, slashing .256/.289/.421 with six homers and 21 RBI. Keep in mind, he still has three years and $87 million remaining on his contract after this season.
May 17 - 12:23 AM

Albert Pujols is not in the Angels' starting lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.

It's a rare day off for the 38-year-old slugger. Luis Valbuena is starting in his place at first base while Shohei Ohtani serves as the Angels' designated hitter and cleanup hitter against Lance Lynn.
May 11 - 7:01 PM

Albert Pujols reached 3,000 career hits as part of a 2-for-4 night against the Mariners on Friday.

Pujols joins Hank Aaron, Alex Rodriguez and Willie Mays in the 3,000-hit, 600-homer club. He's been OK after a slow start to the season, hitting .274 with five homers and 16 RBI in his last 26 games. OK is probably as good as it's going to get from here on in, but the Angels will take it.
May 5 - 1:28 AM

Albert Pujols went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Thursday's 12-3 win over the Orioles.

Pujols doubled home two in the second inning, pushing him up to 2,999 hits for his illustrious career. He would not secure another hit the rest of the game, though, meaning that the quest for 3,000 will continue for at least one more day. The Angels will now hit the road for a three-game weekend set against the Mariners. It's likely that Pujols will come up with the historic knock away from the friendly home confines, as the Halos will be on the road for the next five games before they return home.
May 4 - 1:22 AM

Albert Pujols collected a double and a solo home run over four at-bats in Wednesday's 10-7 victory against the Orioles.

Both of Pujols' two extra-base hits came off of O's starter Dylan Bundy, who will go down as the pitcher to allow career hits No. 2,997 and 2,998 to the future Hall of Famer. History could be made on Thursday against O's RHP Chris Tillman. Pujols is 4-for-15 (.267) with two doubles and two RBI in his career against the pitcher.

May 3 - 3:04 AM

Albert Pujols launched his fifth home run of the season Wednesday in the Angels’ loss to the Astros.

The three-time MVP ended Justin Verlander’s shutout bid in the seventh by drilling a solo shot to left field. That marked the 619th home run of his illustrious career. Pujols is now just six hits away from 3,000, a milestone he could reach in the Angels’ upcoming series against the Yankees.
Apr 25 - 5:59 PM

Albert Pujols is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

It's his first day off of the season. The Halos have moved Shohei Ohtani up to the cleanup spot with Pujols getting a breather.
