Joe Beimel received a clean bill of health from Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday.
Beimel had a minor league contract in place with the Marlins earlier this month, but Miami backed away from the deal after reviewing his medical records. The vote of confidence from Andrews might help Beimel get a shot with a different organization. The veteran left-hander battled shoulder problems last season and finished with a 3.99 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 47 1/3 innings with the Mariners. May 25 - 3:31 PM

Joe Beimel was shelled in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Rangers, allowing three home runs in the seventh inning while recording just one out.

Beimel replaced starter Mike Montgomery to open the seventh, which then unfolded as follows: Shin-Soo Choo hit-by-pitch, line out, two-run homer by Mitch Moreland, solo home run by Mike Napoli, solo home run by Elvis Andrus. Exit stage left. Beimel now holds a 4.78 ERA, but this back-to-back-to-back home run spree will likely be what he's remembered for when the season ends.
