Angels signed RHP Juan Rincon to a minor league contract.

It's actually a split contract which doesn't include an invite to spring training. Rincon pitched for Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League last season and hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2010 as a member of the Rockies. The 33-year-old right-hander will serve as minor league depth.

Dodgers signed RHP Juan Rincon to a minor league contract.

Rincon, 32, made just two appearances at the big league level for the Rockies last season and also struggled at Triple-A. He'll probably have to settle for a spot in the Dodgers' farm system until he proves capable of retiring professional hitters with some sort of regularity.

Juan Rincon will receive a split contract with the Rockies, reports Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

Rincon was re-signed to a minor league deal last month. He'll earn an $800,000 salary if in the big leagues or $20,000 for each month in the minor leagues. He can earn $175,000 in incentives for appearances in the majors, starting with $25,000 at 40 games and capping out at 70 games. With a 7.52 ERA in 26 games with Colorado last season, the odds aren't in his favor.
