Roberts hasn't played since April 5 and required hamstring surgery last month. He'll need to run without restrictions before returning to game action, but it's not clear when that will happen. While the 35-year-old said last week that it was "definitely realistic" to expect him to return before the All-Star break, fantasy owners shouldn't count on him.

While the optimism is nice to hear, it's incredibly difficult to buy into the health of the oft-injured second baseman. He hasn't played since April 5 and underwent surgery last month to repair a ruptured tendon in his right knee. He remains a very talented middle infield option, but can't be trusted in any fantasy format.

It's the first time he's done so since undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in the back of his right knee. Roberts won't return until the end of June, at the earliest.

They were supposed to be removed on Friday, but Roberts wasn't sufficiently healed at that time. The second baseman is coming back from surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in the back of his right knee and will be out for at least the next six weeks or so.

Roberts had been limited to working out on a pool treadmill, so it's a step in the right direction. It's still going to be a lengthy rehab process for Roberts before he returns to the Orioles. He remains without a timetable.

It's a small first step, but a step nonetheless. "That was encouraging," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "He's making some improvement. He's feeling better every day." There's no timetable for Roberts' return.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Thursday that Brian Roberts (knee) will likely not be ready to return in two weeks.

Roberts suffered a ruptured tendon in his knee last week and was given a timetable of 2-4 weeks. While he's no longer limping, he's not expected to meet the low-end of that timetable. Ryan Flaherty and Alexi Casilla will continue to fill in at second base for now.
