Blue Jays signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract.

We're not sure if he'll be getting an invite to spring training or not, but he won't be making the club even if he does. Redding hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2009 and held a 6.24 ERA over 18 games at the Triple-A level this past season.

Phillies signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract.

Redding likely had an out-clause in his minor league contract with the Dodgers. The veteran right-hander had an ugly 6.59 ERA over his first 13 starts with Triple-A Albuquerque this season. He'll function as organizational depth with the Phils.

The Dodgers are choosing between John Ely and Tim Redding for their fifth-starter rotation spot.

They need to use one next Sunday in San Diego. Ely is on the 40-man roster, Redding is not. Therefore, Redding's add to the 40-man roster would require guaranteeing his $750,000 contract. Jon Garland is also lobbying to make the start as he recovers from a strained oblique.

Tim Redding survived three innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out two.

He had to be removed early due to lower back pain, but it doesn't sound like it will be a concern. Redding could be in line to see some starts until Jon Garland returns from his strained oblique, and has looked serviceable this spring, posting a 3.60 ERA in 15 innings. However, after not making a major league appearance in 2010, he's extremely unlikely to have any value in NL-only leagues this season.

Tim Redding can opt out of his contract with the Dodgers on June 15 if he is not on the big league roster.

With Vicente Padilla and Jon Garland both ticketed for the disabled list to start the year, the Dodgers might actually need Redding to eat some innings in the early going. He's posted a respectable 3.00 ERA and 7/3 K/BB ratio in 12 Cactus League frames so far this spring.

Tim Redding will start for the Dodgers Saturday despite being sent home early Friday with flu-like symptoms.

Despite the good news, Redding remains a longshot for a roster spot no matter how well he pitching during camp. He'll likely serve as rotation insurance at Triple-A. The 33-year-old didn't pitch in the majors at all last season.

Tim Redding was sent home early from Dodgers camp Friday with flu-like symptoms.

Redding was slated to start the Dodgers' first exhibition game on Saturday, but it seems likely that he will be scratched. The right-hander inked a minor league contract with Los Angeles this winter and will probably be ticketed for Triple-A when camp breaks.

Dodgers signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract.

The deal includes an invitation to spring training, but Redding is unlikely to be rewarded a spot on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster. He hasn't pitched in a major league game since September 30, 2009 and he owns an ugly 4.95 career ERA and 1.49 career WHIP over eight MLB seasons.

Yankees signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract; optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

That was quick. Redding was released by the Rockies just hours ago, and even fielded offers from the Dodgers and a few Korean teams before settling with Yankees. He had a 4.32 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP in 25 innings at Triple-A Colorado Springs this season before his release and, barring something unforeseen, is unlikely to climb his way onto the Yanks' 25-man roster.

According to the Denver Post's Troy Renck, right-hander Tim Redding has agreed to a minor league contract with the Yankees.

Redding drew interest from the Dodgers and several Korean teams before inking the deal with the Yankees. He had a 4.32 ERA in 25 innings for the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate this season before the club released him on Wednesday afternoon. He's doubtful to land on the Yanks' big league roster.

Rockies released RHP Tim Redding.

Redding was sent to Triple-A Colorado Springs to begin the season and posted a disappointing 4.32 ERA in 25 innings for the Sky Sox. The 32-year-old will seek employment with another organization.

Rockies optioned RHP Tim Redding to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Rockies are doing their best to deal Redding and have reportedly been in talks with the Phillies. He allowed 21 runs in 12 2/3 innings this spring, though, and isn't exactly an attractive trade piece.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Phillies are "kicking the tires" on Rockies right-hander Tim Redding.

Redding had an awful spring, allowing 21 runs in 12 2/3 innings of Cactus League play, but the Phillies have some injury concerns and would like to add depth to their starting rotation. The 32-year-old right-hander signed a minor league contract with the Rox in January.

Rockies reassigned RHP Tim Redding to minor league camp.

Redding allowed 21 runs in 12 1/3 innings this spring for an 8.76 Cactus League ERA. He'll be recalled rather quickly if there's an injury on the Rockies' staff, but his fantasy value is certainly limited.
