Adam Dunn is still dealing with back pain but plans to continue playing through it.
Dunn left Saturday's game due to back spasms but was back in the lineup the next day and has remained in there each day since. The pain isn't an issue when he's swinging a bat, so he should be OK in the DH spot. "Laying down that hurts it worse and sitting down makes it stiff," Dunn said. "So, I’m sure I’ll be walking around doing some stuff. Again, I never had any back problems. I don’t consider this a back problem really. But I don’t know. I guess it just has to run its course." Adam Dunn hit a three-run homer off Jon Lester in the White Sox's victory Monday.

The home run was his second off a lefty this year. He hit 15 off southpaws last season after going without a single homer off a left-hander in 2011. Overall, Dunn has 11 homers this year. He's batting .211 with 13 RBI in 16 games this month after coming in at .148 with 12 RBI in 24 games in April.
May 21 - 12:10 AM

Adam Dunn (back) is back in the White Sox' lineup Sunday.

Dunn left Saturday's game with back spasms, but he's feeling a lot better a day later. The veteran is batting .421/.450/1.158 with four homers and 10 RBI over his last five games.
May 19 - 1:11 PM

Adam Dunn left Saturday's game against the Angels due to back spasms.

Jeff Keppinger hit for the first baseman in the fifth inning. Spasms are generally a day-to-day thing, so we'll have to see how Dunn is feeling Sunday before knowing if he'll have to miss some games. It's unfortunate timing, too, as Dunn has been heating up at the plate.
May 18 - 6:19 PM

Adam Dunn homered twice, doubled and knocked in five runs to lead the White Sox to a 9-4 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

Dunn is terribly sad to see the series against the Twins come to an end. He hit three homers in the three games, and he could have had a fourth if Aaron Hicks hadn't gone over the fence to rob him on Monday. Hopefully for the White Sox, he'll stay hot in a four-game series in Anaheim this weekend. It doesn't seem all that likely, though; he's hit .228 with just two homers in 92 at-bats against Angels pitching in his career.
May 15 - 4:53 PM

Adam Dunn hit his seventh home run of the season Tuesday in the White Sox win over the Twins.

Dunn had one taken away by Twins' center fielder Aaron Hicks on Monday, but he wouldn't be foiled again Tuesday. Dunn continues to be a batting average drag, so it's nice to see him finally start to show the power from which the vast majority of his value is derived.
May 15 - 12:55 AM

Adam Dunn hit his fifth home run of the season in Saturday night's loss to the Rays.

Dunn is batting just .134/.211/.341 in 22 games, but he's capable of parking one at any time and so you have to live with the other stat deficiencies. The 33-year-old DH has three home runs in his last six games.
Apr 27 - 10:55 PM

Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer off Jeremy Hellickson in the White Sox's win Thursday.

Sure, Dunn is hitting .108, but at least .054 of that comes from homers (he now has four). He also walked three times Wednesday, which matched his total from his first 18 games combined. Maybe he won't bust out all of a sudden, but this makes two encouraging days in a row.
Apr 25 - 11:19 PM

Adam Dunn finished 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Saturday in an extra-innings loss to the Twins.

Dunn owns a hideous .098/.154/.213 batting line in 16 games and has already fanned 23 times. He does have a pair of homers, though, and shouldn't be benched in fantasy leagues because his power can show up at any time.
Apr 20 - 6:52 PM

Adam Dunn went 0-for-3 with a HBP from the fifth spot in the White Sox lineup on Monday.

Dunn's .128 average isn't nearly as shocking the fact that he's walked just twice in 47 at-bats this season. He can supplement the low batting average with the terrific walk rate usually, but he's hardly getting on base in any sort of fashion this year.
Apr 15 - 10:34 PM

Adam Dunn is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Nationals.

The White Sox won't have the ability to use the DH under National League rules, so Dunn will sit Tuesday. It's not clear if he'll play in the field during the series.
Apr 9 - 2:30 PM

Adam Dunn homered, singled and scored twice against the Royals on Wednesday.

Manager Robin Ventura's surprising decision to bat Dunn fourth ahead of Paul Konerko gave his value a bit of a boost. Nothing against Konerko, but since he's terribly slow and he drives in a lot of runs himself, he's a rather tough guy to hit behind. Of course, Dunn hit ahead of Konerko last year, too, but it looked like he'd be dropped to fifth this year with Alex Rios moving up to the third spot.
Apr 3 - 5:06 PM

Adam Dunn went 3-for-3 with a two-run double and a walk in Friday's 7-2 win over the Brewers.

Dunn entered Friday's action hitting .204 this spring, equaling his batting average from last season. As long as he continues to hit home runs and draw walks, you won't hear any complaints from the White Sox or fantasy owners.
Mar 29 - 11:41 PM

Adam Dunn singled and launched a three-run homer Tuesday against the Reds.

The longball came in the first inning. Dunn has had a very Dunn-esque spring, batting .206 with three homers to go along with a 7/8 BB/K ratio over 34 at-bats.
Mar 19 - 6:35 PM

Adam Dunn (elbow) will return to the lineup Friday.

Dunn has been held out the last two days due to a bruised right elbow. He'll play first base against the Indians.
